How does you game fit the theme?
The monster is not actually real, and on a deeper level, neither is the maze (it's a metaphor for life really deep stuff)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All code is written from scratch, all art/animation is from scratch, SFX and fonts were free, available to use files which are linked on the project page.

Well, the maze was far too long (I didn't even manage to complete it), but even if the monster wasn't real seeing the lamp running out of fuel was pretty stressful, so good job on that front. I think if you had the maze split into screens, og the Legend of Zelda style, it would make it much more manageable.

Overall I really think it has some potential, it just needs a little fine tuning :)

wow, amazing game!

I also think the maze was too long, but the pixel art was really great.

Developer(+2)

Yeaaaaah it was a bit long if I could go back I definitely would have made it shorter, thanks for the feedback!

I agree. Also I wish there were more to do than to just walk for minutes and minutes. I feel like there's probably a lot of hard work that I'll never know about because I never found anything interesting. I love the artwork! Perhaps you could post a Youtube video of you solving the maze? That'd be awesome.

Thanks :)

The game feels like a very lengthy maze for me. It takes way too long walk in one direction before you finally seeing either a turn or an intersection. I couldn't complete it because there's not much that's keeping me entertained. Maybe try shortening your routes, introduce other (decorative/lore related/whatever) stuffs along the way to make exploration interesting and keep the player invested. The art is pretty good!

Thanks for the feedback, honestly I completely agree the maze sucks. The only reason it does is because this was kinda a collaborative project with my dad, the idea for the game was originally his so I let him draw out the maze and he gave me just the most awful maze ever made but I decided to put it in anyway.

awww that's kinda wholesome. I'm not really sure about this but maybe you can try talking it out with him, choosing your words so that it comes off as constructive criticism and not rejection. Really hope that you two can communicate better and lay out your opinions about each other more! I mean, he's making the game WITH you! Teammates give constructive criticisms to each other so that they can come to a mutual agreement and do great things together!

Hopefully that didn't sound rude xD

Developer(+1)

It didn’t sound rude lol I get what you are saying. Will definitely try to communicate better if me and him continue to cooperate on stuff like this!
