How does you game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme of "You are not alone" by having multiple, unique characters controlled by the main player. This fits the theme as in most puzzle platformers you play as one character the entire game.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote almost all the code, I got the leaderboard from here: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/tools/network/dreamlo-com-free-instant-leaderboards-and-promocode-system-3862 . The door sprite from here: https://pixelartmaker-data-78746291193.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/image/118bfa056fc460b.png. The enviroment from here: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/2d/environments/2d-platfrom-tile-set-cave-61672 . The bg music from here: .I modified brackey's character controller aswell. The rest of the assets were all mine. (Anything I forgot is most likely mentioned in the devlogs)

A good minigame! The camera could be zoomed out a bit more, and the music was also a bit on the lower side. But other than that, a really solid game.
Yeah Ive recived a lot about the camera and am planning to fix after the jam.
Adorable cubess!!!! Had a lot of fun playing through each level and learning the mechanics of the game!! The only real issue I had is that the difficulty is a bit hard at the start mainly due to needing pre-existing knowledge of platforming games beforehand and the camera not being able to see a lot of obstacles, unless it is intentionally a trial and error kind of game?
Yeah thats been pointed out a bit, I do need to fix the camera. I was going to add a zoom feature but I ran out of time. Thanks for playing though and glad that you enjoyed learning the mechanics!
Great game, really well made and felt polished. My only problem is that sometimes I couldnt see platforms off-screen but after a bit of trial and error it was fine. Nice work.

Great game, I loved it
Love that you love it!
Nice little platformer game, the player movement and collisions are not the best but are decent and the idea of using other cubes to help you is really cool.
Thanks, glad that you enjoyed it :)
Awesome game that was fun and challenging. I thought that the swapping between cubes and them having special capabilities was a really nice and fun idea and fits nicely within the theme. Also, I think the graphics and the visual effects (like the trail) were great.
I will mention a few things I noticed while playing. There were times where I did get stuck inside a platform if I jump to the bottom of it from a certain angle. Also, the audio messes up if I reset the game in the menu (sounds like multiples of it are being played on top of each other).
Other than that though (which are all mostly polish related things), this was a great game!
Thanks, glad that you enjoyed playing it. Yeah as soon as this game jam is over im going to work on the polish a bit.
Good submission, I enjoyed playing it and I think it feels and looks really nice.
I like the variety of the cubes, and them different from each other with their mechanics. It adds depth on this regard you nailed it.
The only complaint I'd have is the same as what others wrote it - the difficulty curve seems a bit high, I was too stuck quite a bit on level 1, and even after from time to time it seemed like I had to nail a perfect jump/wall stick to get through.
Besides that, I really liked it, well done :)
Thanks, sorry that it was a bit hard.
Cool idea! With a little bit of polishing, this might be a very cool game! Good job!
Thanks ;)
The concept is really cool, changing and working cooperatively with the cubes is very interesting.
A few more of these (when you jump, die etc...) would be a plus for the game experience.
Good job!
Thanks :) Glad that you enjoyed playing
Really cool idea to have different characters you can swap between to progress through the levels! :) I had a fun time playing your game, nice job!! :D
Thanks :)
Fun game! Really well done, I liked the overall feel.
I agree that the difficulty curve at the beginning is a bit high, it took me way too long to get over that first wall, lol. I would also say that I instinctively wanted to press space bar to jump rather than using up arrow/W, which probably didn't help me with trying to get up the wall.
Great job, it's an awesome game, and really amazing how well put together it feels with the short time you have in game jams!
Yeah, thanks for playing tho
very nice job. I love the Metroid theme layout, the visuals, the different abilities of each character, and just the over all feel.
The only points of improvement I have are that your difficultly curve is pretty much a vertical wall requiring pin point accuracy on level 1, so just build in some tolerance for mistakes and you should be good. This is more of a suggestion, but I would also advise tweaking the hang time and speed of the other cubes to really give them a distinct personality.
Otherwise well done, would recommend!
Thanks for the feedback. :)
Really nice game! Graphics are simple and effective (i really like the rift design), i like the idea of various cube effect you can switch to! overall great game!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
I Love This Game So Much It is Great Game
Thanks glad you enjoyed
Semi-on-the-fly remarks:
‘My game fits the theme of "You are not alone" by having multiple, unique characters controlled by the main player. This fits the theme as in most puzzle platformers you play as one character the entire game.’
‘Each character has unique traits eg. Double Jump or Wall Stick’
‘The bg music from here: .’
(Written below the YouTube walkthrough: Maze by Density & Time.)
Made it placing a non-bouncing block on the lower platform as a ‘rostrum’.
(Aaaah, I see in the walkthrough that you used the green cube! X) Not obvious! Ah, but you did then jump directly with the green cube, weirdly… Hints at the jump’s hardness!!)
(Walkthrough: not important, in fact. You did not use the leftward switch at all, apparently! Several solutions?)
Tried going back with black: OH NO, I now have to save both again!! <:o Although the concept of associating a current level to each cube is interesting (and reminds me of how you only keep saved lemmings from level to level in Lemmings 2), it is currently in practice not that workable, since you apparently need everyone (or many) to solve the levels.
I think I will stop testing here (I am already super slow in testing the massive amounts of games that game jams provide!), although I am curious as to what the blue cube was all about. ._. Deeply sorry…
Ah, found out in one of your posts! :)
And now taking a peek at the walkthrough. (Where I am getting aware that lava particles are cubes too. X))
Takeaway: The Lost Vikings, but with cubes, and some original special abilities (although now that I think of it, Fang from The Lost Vikings II can also hang to the walls!). Such a game is quite a challenge in level design, and I feel you made it! I just think the platforming gameplay is a bit clunky sometimes, which makes it a bit strenuous to have all cubes make it to the exit. (And as already said in other comments, the X mechanic is a problem.) Already a rather impressive base for a full game, well done!
Thank you for the game (although I could not make it to the end for the moment…).
I’ll write a longer comment later as I am on my phone right now, your progress is saved between reloads,
Thanks for playing the game and for such a in-depth review. I will try to awnser in the same way you did so it’s less confusing.
thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it :)
Hey there! I am super late for about everything I have to do, just passing by. XD Thank you for your long answer! A quick (? XD) reaction to some points you raised. (Some pseudo-numbered lines to keep the numbering and indentation right… Not sure you can do otherwise, as there is no HTML code editor for game jam comments. ._.)
Thank you again for the game; I may not have stressed enough in my initial review that I was impressed with the amount of content you poured into the game. (Mine seemed shameful compared to it, as a small late entry! XD) Keep up the good work!
wow, and I thought I was a long commenter. lol all useful stuff, it's just a lot.
Your game has lots of ideas and content for such a short time, congrats! I liked the controls/cube movements and felt like the level design worked well with the "switching between cubes with different abilities" mechanism. I also really liked the little writings on the wall (laughed at one that said "Lava this way." with an arrow or something like that).
A bit hard to know where to go after the first two levels though, especially with the camera so zoomed in (it was even hard to get through a couple of simple platform jumps because of it at times…). But anyway, overall I had fun shepherding all my little cubes to safety, so good job!
yeah do need to fix the camera but thanks for playing
The main problem is the camera zoom. Very hard to control when you don't know where the next platform is. Otherwise, nice concept and take on the theme.
Yeah I was goign to add a zoom feature but ran out of time.
Chill. Very good game otherwise.
It was a an interesting game...........it would've been a bit more better if the camera was zoomed out a little coz it's a bit difficult to see the next platform to jump to.
Really loved the mechanics of your game
Yeah I was going to add zoom but ran out of time.
cute game, reminds me of Thomas was alone!
Thanks :)
cute and interesting game : )
Thanks, glad you liked it!
