How does you game fit the theme?
You start as one ant, and the goal of the game is to create an ant swarm, making sure that the ant is no longer alone.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code, 3D models/Animation from scratch but used external assets for sfx, music, additional images and textures.

reminds me of pikmin but the ants were so slow :(

This was very creative. The curved area and the mini map were well done, and the insect models were awesome. The concept of preparing an adequate army to attack increasingly large bugs is a good concept, conserving food and huddling before attacking to optimize the time helped. Some things that tripped me up:

  • Since the queen can keep eating past the point of full, I didn't at first realize that it was wasteful and I was burning through a limited supply
  • I didn't quite get what was happening when the beetles would shake and regain health, and I was never able to defeat the big guy. I also didn't notice for a few times that the target must then be re-set.
  • The "Stop" button being repurposed for following the queen and setting a target was confusing until I noticed it later. The first few times I thought I had forgotten to stop having them follow the queen while attacking so I clicked it, but it automatically refers to stopping the attack after the target is set, so I unintentionally cancelled the attack.

Awesome work, I look forward to playing again if you expand on it!

Good concept and nice idea with the theme we had. It's true that an ant is never alone!

Besides it's a real pleasure to build a big army, the cockroaches didn't have any chance! :D

I really love this idea for a game. Commanding a little army to kill large enemies brings me back to playing Pikmin. Good memories. I think this was very well done and could definitely see this idea going somewhere given more time. Also, great job on the models!

Great job on the graphics! its not like anything ive seen before in this jam! But the gameplay gets a bit boring after a while, and i couldnt find a way to attack enemies (i figured i could since they have an HP count) Also, the walking sound gets a bit annoying after a while too. But great job nonetheless!

What a unique design! The build your own army mechanic is really neat. I like the fish eye lens effect. A lot of attention to detail and the art was perfect.

Unfortunately at the last beetle, I set the target as the big beetle but only a few ants at a time were attacking, and the beetle went from about 50 health, all the way back to 400 which was frustrating. That was when I learned you could eat the ants, which is great attention to detail! But I still couldn't get the queen back up to speed enough to take down the beetle, and I had eaten everything on the map.

Great game and great work! Thanks for making this game!

Really cool game It was enjoyable to establish a colony and gradually climb the bugs. Allowing your worker ants to do more than simply attack, being able to conduct some world exploration, and laying down ant pheromones for the rest of your ants to use are some things that could be added if you continue post-jam.  If you want to would you feel like rating my game please? Or if not then you could help the people in the need of rating catogory. What ever you choose it is up to you. Keep up the creation of fun games :)

Really cool strategy game about ants!

Pros: fun/satisfying gameplay loop, nice music, cool visuals, unique concept

Cons: four of my ants got stuck which caused the last beatle to be impossible to kill, kind of a lack of things to do when you're just waiting to spawn enough ants, the spawn sound was a bit repetative which got a little annoying since you hear it so much.

Overall really cool game and unique take

a fresh take I would say. Good luck. Pleased check ours.

Pretty nice game! Was fun to build up a colony and slowly progress up the beetles.  If you continue post jam some things that could be added are allowing your worker ants to do more things rather than just attack and be able to have some search out in the world and set down ant pheromones for the rest of your ants to use

I loved the idea, I don't know why It reminds me of agario but still enjoyed it. Great game!

Really great models, I enjoyed playing. The game is very relaxing and satisfying. I made quite big colony I think. Sometimes when there's a lot of ants they're kinda laggy. Animations are nice, music matches the game. It'd be very kind if you checked my game by any chance :)

Great job!

Nice UI and smooth game play. I think a walk animation on the ants would make a huge impact though. Nice job
