How does you game fit the theme?
The player character is alone in space, but he is not really alone, there's a monster sleeping in the asteroid.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, except UI button sound that we bought.

I liked the control mechanic, and having to collect the extinguishers to fill up. A smoother transition between scenes, and having more direct interactions with the monster would have been nice though.
What a fun game! I love the idea and the story. And sounds – they fit perfectly :)
I enjoyed it a lot
Really fun game, good graphics and gameplay. Once you understand how to dodge the asteroids it's easy to finish, but I admit I died 4 or 5 times before completing the game. Although I think this is already a good game, I think it could be improved; here are my thoughts:
-Running out of oxygen is almost impossible. There are many tanks which also respwan after a bunch of seconds and they refill completely the oxygen bar. I feel like at least one of these things needs to be nerfed to put more pressure on the player and make him more aware of its resources.
-You should make the monster cutscene skippable. It's really good but it gets annoying after 3 or 4 times, so I would put this option to save time.
-The theme is weak, and it's a shame, cause the game has so much potential. Consider adding a cutscene where the monster awakes and attacks the player in the red asteroids section; that's a simple way to fix it and to make things more interesting.
And that's all, your game is overall impressive and one of the most fun to play, so keep up the good work.
fun little game, i dont think it really fit the theme that much (maybe if you had to get back to your ship with the monster chasing you?) i liked the sound effects a lot, and the graphics were nice i like the fire extinguisher like, smoke stuff, but it seemed to only appear kinda randomly? And the asteroid bit was a bit jarring because i wasnt sure what i was meant to do at first and sometimes its difficult to tell where the asteroid would come from. though i really liked the base game mechanics, exploring the maze like area was quite fun all in all good game!
An interesting concept of the game. Cool!
Great game bro
I really enjoyed it
I have only one comment the asteroids is too fast
Overall, great game I really enjoyed it
if you have time you can check mine too
GO ON BRO!
Thanks for the feed back 👍
I liked the concept. The asteroids moved to fast for me to react though.
Rate mine plz: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-8/rate/1675396
Thanks! Yes, we might have to tweak a few parameters around
Great game, I really like the concept of rebuilding the ship - it's fun!
Thanks! Always nice to build, it's rewarding!
Nice and fun entry! The rocket controls are fun, the graphics are simple, but good, and I appreciate the cutscenes and storytelling! I really liked the extinguisher sound, did you do it by mouth xD?
The pace of the game was a bit odd, with the mix of "look for parts" and "avoid asteroids" (I didn't even understand I needed to avoid them until it was too late xD), but it was a nice touch to have some gameplay changes =). Also, I didn't really feel like there was a monster outside of the cutscenes, did I miss something?
Overall, a nice little game that needs a little bit of polish in the gameplay phases, but with very nice cutscenes and controls. Congrats =)
Thanks a lot for the review! Glad you like it! And yes, i must confess, it is by mouth! with an additional week, it would have been perfectly polished and the pace would not be so odd, it would've been "neat"! Thanks!
This is pretty fun! Not sure how the 'hot asteroid' sections fit into the whole thing - maybe leave those out or integrate them into the main level? I also didn't identify any ending related to the monster, perhaps failure to keep the monster happy should be included? A minimap would also be nice to reduce the wandering needed for those last few pieces.
Nice job!
Glad you like it! There was a lot more planned around basically all the point you made, sadly we ran out of time
Hey, pretty nice game! Maybe some kind of indicator - like a timer - would be better for the asteroid scenes, that would make it more easy to understand. Anyway, I liked the whole idea, core concept the best.
If you have some time, please check out our game.
Glad you liked it! We should definitely have added a timer
I liked the particle effects a lot and the different ship pieces. I think having the monster cutscene happen only for the first piece you collect would have made the game faster, but still a nice job!
Thanks for liking our work! Multiple mini games were thought for each monster cutscenes, but we sadly ran out of time, thanks !
Great idea. Going the space route is a bonus point for me :p
The endlessness of space gives an infinity of space routes... Thanks for the bonus point!
Great game. I love the extinguisher sound.
Thanks! And a personnal thank for the extinguisher sound!
Great game, very innovative mechanics.
Thank you!
great game!
Thanks!
Cool game, I enjoyed the gameplay mechanic and the controls were cool. Something to improve on is maybe making the monster more involved in the game but its your choice. A great game overall, what a good submission. If you would be so kind to rate my game, but its entirely up to you :)
More of a choice, it was a technical issue on our side! haha, thanks for the review, glad you liked it!
Its a nice gameplay mechanic and it feels quite responsive, though I wouldn't expected a lot more drift in space.
It was a shame the monster parts are tied to collecting pieces and not integrated into the main game. I read the description and thought id have to be careful with my extinguishing
Thanks for the review! We thought of both way and made it this way for "technical reasons" haha. Being careful with the extinguisher was an idea for one of the mini game we had thought of, but sadly did not make it in time for the jam!
A game based on Newton’s third law? Thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved how intuitively counter-intuitive the controls are.
Glad you liked it 👍, thanks for the feedback
fun game didn't understand the red falling objects
It's Hot rocks they kill you instantly
