How does your game fit the theme?
I hope well enough.

Ending life of a subject leads to beginning of a testing on a new subject.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I made all my scripts and sprites with a little help of internet

Nice little crafting game.  Kind of evil to have your test subject that you throw potions at.  Made a yellow potion that didn't seem to have any reaction.  The red potion, I felt like I drank it instead of throwing it?   It was a little confusing at first that you need to interact with the bench to get ingredients.  At first I thought each of the squares against the wall would give a different ingredient.  Also, just a web browser game issue for using 'Esc' key as this just makes the browser focus on the active browser tab.  So it was a little difficult to exit out of the recipe book because you needed to hit 'Esc' key twice and then refocus the game on screen each time.  For future WebGL game, probably choose a different key for 'exit' function.

I didn't hear any sounds/music.  Adding these in the future would enhance the game quite a bit.

Very nice pixel graphics.

Developer

Thanks! The yellow potion has a random effect of +10/0/-10 so it can do nothing to the subject.

Drinking the potion shouldn't be possible, don't know much about that.

Since it was my first itch.io submission, I didn't know much about the WebGL. Next time I will take the 'Esc' into account, thanks for letting me know.

Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time left to add any.

Cool idea. Although I didn't quite get what to do after you make a potion; I couldn't test it on the subject but otherwise the game was quite awesome. Could you check out my submission as well?

Developer

Thanks for the comment! Testing the potions was meant to be throwing them at the subject and see how it affects it. Hope that helps.

ohhh that's what i was struggling with. Thanks

Wow.

Developer

Thanks! At least I hope it's meant in a good way.

It was meant in a good way, haha.

Nice work. I didn't quite understand what to do. Made a potion but it disappeared.

Developer

Thanks for the comment. Can't find a reason why your potion just disappeared. Is there a chance you've pressed "R" and thrown it?

I was able to move around and to move a strange item but I didn't understand the real objective of the game. I think it's some sort of sandbox game ?

Sprites, animations and gameplay are really good. Bravo !

Developer

Thank you! The main objective was meant to be trying out all the potions you make on your subject on the left by throwing them at it.

I love the sprite work! It was super sweet when he levitates the ingredients across the room. The lack of instructions wasn't that big of a problem for me since it encouraged exploration in a minecraft sort of way but it might be worth considering adding some in the future. Also I noticed your player always idles downward, if you need help with that let me know. Nice work tho its a solid submission.

Thank you so much for that! I am currently working on my school project so I won't have much time to work on it for a while now. However I will definitely reach out to you if I need any help in with it the future.

Good game. I agree with a comment tho; this game needs a tutorial. The lack of music made it a bit boring too, but overall a good game.

Nice game, but it definitely needs a tutorial. Really cool idea with potions

Interesting concept, the controls were something I needed to get used to but I like the idea!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I understand it might feel a bit speedy, however I hope you enjoyed it anyways.

Interesting and unique interpretation of the theme! I like the idea that the wizard moves objects with magic, very cute. I would recommend adding some pop up icons to indicate which buttons to use to interact with things or a tutorial. Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot! I was thinking about adding tutorial or something like that, unfortunately I didn't have much time to work on it.

Great little game. I love how the wizard moves the potions ^^

Developer

Thank you!

Great idea. Nice implementation of the potions. Also a nice premise of accidentally killing the subject and then needing to get a new one.

Nice execution!

Developer

Thanks for that!

Being able to see the test subject when the potion hit was something that would improve the game , plus sound would help.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. Was thinking about implementing it but didn't have much time to do so.

The idea that the wizard moves the ingredients with magic is brilliant!

Developer

Thanks a lot!

Clever concept, not so sure I understand. None of the potions I made did anything. instructions would be nice.

Developer

Thanks for info, will add that to the description. Each potion will deal damage or heal the troll depending on it's color. Hope it helps.

Very interesting idea and mechanics. Only I do not know how to get out of the book

Developer

Thanks for the comment, I forgot to type it to the description. Using esc should do it
