Artist notes
The fantasy characters and the color palette made things feel very mystical and ethereal. I went with a 7/4 time signature because there are 7 "feet" walking along the path. I used a violin and bassoon to represent each voice as they converse with one another. They look like they're coming from a dark place and entering (or realizing) this beautiful world they are in together and will keep each other safe.

Amazing art by Jimmy Chimmy!!

I like the little decorative melodies! Very elegant yet orphic all the way through. Fascinating way of deriving a time signature from the image!

thank you!! I also had some footsteps on dirt trying to be in sub-patterns of 7 reinforce this, but after a certain point I’m really just doing it for my own peace of mind.

I liked it. The feel fit the theme perfectly, and the arranging balanced everything nicely.

thanks so much!!

I love the eeary/oniric vibe, well attained thanks to the great textures and the odd time signature. Very nice idea that it is a conversation between both characters. I really like this, congrats!

Thank you kindly!!!!!!!

i love that middle section where you just feel all the space around you, hearing little fragments pop up and fly away. Lovely ambiance all throughout :)

Developer

thank you! That was exactly what I was going for!!! 🥰

I like the orchestration here! I think I'd look into vsts or even different methods of making the instruments sound more like they're being played by people, because I think that would enhance this a lot. Well done!

Thanks! I do most of my orchestra through Garritan Personal Orchestra 5. Do you have a favorite VST?

I have a couple! My go tos for free  vsts are Spitfire and the Kontakt 7 free library (Sam's Orchestra). I am a little privileged in this regard because I currently have a subscription to Opus West libraries, which is a paid one.

If you know how to write sheet music, MuseScore 4 is free and MuseSounds are pretty incredible as well.

Very interesting piece. Begins with call and response melody and its variations before fading into a reverb/pad ambient noisescape and then the melody returns. The structure of the song really nails your interpretation of the art representing a dream. The melody itself reminded me a little of Ocarina of Time's windmill theme mixed with a bit of Final Fantasy Tactics.

Thank you for the commentary! I am indeed very Zelda influenced but I’ll have to trust you on the FF side of things 🙂

Wow this is the first soundtrack from a jam I've listened to and I'm astounded. Dude, this is amazing.
