Hey!! Now I can recognize any of your games, you are making a name for yourself. This game was really awesome. I think you are my favorite dev on 1st person battle systems, you actually make it fun and it looks beautiful. I think the story was good, I was hooked, its not a new theme, but the characters make it interesting. I like the choices you placed, I had to save and load to actually see other outcomes. Your system was neat, gaining points to 1. open chests or 2. buy stuff and remain alive.
I battled everything so at the end it was super easy, but I think that's the perk of grinding. My only complaint (not even complaint, more like a suggestion) is that I see you reused some animations from your other games, they look amazing but given the talent that you have, you should create new, awesome ones. Congratz, This is a really great entry.
Hey, Varo! I remember you were the first person to play my game, Gargantuan, when I really needed someone to playtest it for another jam. For you to say I'm your favorite first person battle dev, is such an honor. All the positive feedback is really making me super motivated to keep making games, thanks.
I'm still impressed with your front-view battle system. It looks so much like a first-person shooter. I also like that there are choices to be made during the game that affect the ending. As I said during Drifty's stream, it would be nice to have more details in the various halls and more enemy variety.
Congratulations on another strong game jam entry!
Fun game with a really good story, definitely worth playing!
Well that was quite a ride :)
The way you incorporated first-person 3D movement in the vents and the harrowing intro scene was great, and the FP fights were a ton of fun visually and mechanically, loved the shooting sounds and various animations.
The aspect of being a team, but also being wary of betrayal, added spice. I loved that your baddest teammate is also seemingly the crookedest. Hey cool a sweet new gun, I should equip that on...wait...should I? hah! Some of the lategame decisions were real dilemmas, nicely done.
On one hand the maps and enemies got a bit repetitive, on the other the sheer fun of the way you handled combat visually kept me engaged, and I was bummed when it ended. I'd definitely play an extended update if you make one, even just to see the impact my decision have as it progressed.
Cool story too, and I dug the few items, skills, and equipment I obtained. Getting new guns then seeing them in action (and getting to use their 'Tech' features) was especially satisfying.
Awesome job, your game stands out in many ways!
Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it. I wanted to add more variation to the enemies too but just didn't have the time, a couple ideas I had floating around were projectile vomiting babies and giant killer teddy bears .
The game was a ton of fun to make and I already have some cool ideas for the continuation, the fact that you'd want to see more really means a lot.
Woo! Kemsyn knows how to do first person gun combat. That double tap is just really satisfying. I loved the creepy enemy graphics (with cool death and hurt animations), really good sound engineering, and a strange futuristic setting - all so iconic of Kemsyn games. I like the combat - to me it is just resource management, knowing exactly how many hits to kill babies, maximizing grenade efficiency, etc.. Dialog I found well written, and I personally don't trust any of these dead people.
For the jam, I think it was a bit long and grindy. I love killing loads of babies as much as the next guy, but I went a bit over 30 minutes and had to rush to get to the end in a reasonable time. If I had played before submission, I'd suggest:
- fewer mobs, higher rewards
- less wandering - maybe cut the walking about in half by shortening hallways
- maybe begin with one MP ability, and remove that many chests
- a bit more baby robot variety - a color change for say a magic user or a healing baby would be nice.
That would have shortened the game, offered more variety, and given players a chance to explore different endings. I'm also curious what happens if I let certain characters die and pick different dialog choices. I think a save point before the last rest cut scene would be nice for players to explore the options and endings.
Thank you for the eerie, robobaby shooting experience!
Thanks for the feedback, Human, I wish I joined your server earlier so I had time to make use of it. I'll definitely refine the exploring a bit if I decide to continue this story. I actually wanted to do loads more things but had to cut a lot of ideas as the deadline drew closer. It's a good thing I stopped where I did :)
The choices you make throughout don't have much impact on the story other than different dialogue, the choice at the end is the only one that changes things drastically. You can actually save just before the major decision if you'd like to experience both endings.
Your comment means more to me than you realise. I know my games are not for everyone, I just tell the stories that I want to, so when someone really appreciates what I do, it makes me so happy, thankyou.

NICE
Thanks for checking it out. If you were wondering why you weren't doing much damage, it was because you accidentally unequipped the weapons on some characters :)
This is a great game, definitely worth playing it!
Do you like Gantz? Great implementation of the theme purple and babies!
Yeah, I took inspiration from a few death game manga. Gantz is one of my favourites and the opening scene when they go to the room had me hooked the first time I saw it. I always wanted to do something similar in a game .
It's cool that someone gets the reference!
The attack graphics with the guns looks great!!
