Nooooooooooooo! Why you ppl keep doing this? all the super fun games are super short! When I beat the boss I was like, oh cool, this is going to be great. THE END =(.
Super fun to play! I dont think a game can be simpler, great job!
Thanks, Varo! If I had had the inspiration at the beginning of the month instead of the end it definitely would have been longer. That said, I appreciate your enthusiasm because that makes me want to make a longer version some day. Thanks again for playing and leaving feedback!
Terrific game! Very short. I would have liked to retry the boss battle when I died (instead of starting over from the beginning), but the game is short enough it didn't matter. Would love to see a fully fleshed out version of this game.
Being able to retry a battle (and even a proper save system) is definitely a good idea for a longer future version. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm glad you liked it! I'm already toying with how I might lengthen the experience in the future.
One idea I had: you could add a shield in between the enemy sprites and if the player hits it in the middle of the bite animation, they take half damage or something. (And it only shows up in later levels when enemies do a lot more damage.)
Thoroughly enjoyed this, clever battle system!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback.
Nice little game to be made in such a short time. Love the ending!
Awesome, thanks Nowis!
Fun simple game! I would’ve like to have seen maybe a few more elements to attack with, and some kind of visual cue that one of the monsters is going to attack you. That would make it so you’d focus on the monster that is about to deal damage. Graphics could probably use a bit of polish, but they were charming in their own way. Really quick game, but it was fun!
Yeah, those are good ideas. Thanks for the feedback!
Very creative and I love the idea of this game. Fun to play. :)
Awesome, thanks! I’ll have to make a longer one some day.
Very cute, and well done. Gameplay and story was simple but well executed. I love the awkward conversation at the end.
Excellent! I'm glad that my efforts to make everything clear worked and the humor stuck the landing. Thanks for the feedback!
Awesome job KV! :) This is a perfect example of how to inject creativity into simplicity. Also, fun for all ages :)
Thanks, Loch! I'm always looking for ways to make my games easy to pick up, so this is exciting feedback. And again, thanks for helping me understand the engine better.
The story is great and I like the potential of the game. Keep going on!
Thanks! I might expand on the idea in this game some day.
Nice work KV, firstly I thought it was rpg maker, I've never used GDevelop before!
Game is fun and for a first game is good!
Thanks for the review! I almost did make this game in RPG Maker, but I ran into some limitations that kept it from working the way I wanted to. But hey, now I know how to use a different engine! Glad you enjoyed my game.
Tried many times with touchpad only ( hardcore gamer mode ) but I could not win haha :). Took my mouse and killed all those square dragons & behemoths ( let my imagination flow :) ). Classic short & fun game!
I tried to make the game as accessible as possible, but I guess touchpads have too much delay to work for this game. Good info to have, thanks for the review! I’m glad you had fun!
This one proves that you don't need complex mechanics or mindblowing graphics to make a fun game.
You really pared battle down to the barest elements, and it worked!
A fun minute of turbo-clicking :)
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback.
I like how the game is fast paced. The boss was killing me a lot, but you just got to be faster. Fun game. Great job!!
Awesome, glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback.
