The color changing mechanic is really nice. I was a bit confused at first until I realized the there were two different systems for color change with the shield contributing but once i figured it out it was really cool, just a tad hard to manage the controls and color changing but I really liked it. The sfx was a bit loud compared to the music, some settings for sfx vs music would be really nice for that.

Glad you liked the mechanic! Thank you for playing our little game and your feedback!

Thank you for trying the game! Really good idea to have different sliders for the SFX and Music, will definitely keep that in mind for the next jam. I was just so happy I actually remembered to put in a volume slider! Haha. We are planning on trying out some different controls for the color-switching after the voting period is over, I'm glad you liked the mechanic!

Really fun game, I love the color changing idea so much, it really adds in a level of on-the-fly decision making that I'm all here for it. Altought I do suffer a bit from skill issue, I admit x)
My best was 43.

Also, it gets a little waaay too chaotic a little waaay to quickly xD
I think it would have been good if there were some kind of enemy limit, because once there are a lot of them, you really have no idea what even is happening anymore, and the several colorful bullets flying around everywhere makes it almost impossible to even see who is the little gremlin that is shooting them (And if there is a limit, it may be a little too high).
Also, something that felt like a weird balancing decision for me is that the most dangerous enemies are also the ones that need specific color combinations to deal with, so whenever one of those appear for the first time, it's already a hell of a difficulty spike, and even when you barely noticed there are a few green guys roaming around you're already surprised by purples and oranges almost immdiatelly and is bullied the hell out by them. (Of course, this could be solved by gitting gud, but still.)
The keybinds are a little unhelpful as well since I kinda need to take my hand out of position to properly change the shield color, it would have been better to cycle throught stuff with either the mouse wheel as I saw you guys mentioned on another comments, or by just cycling all colors with only Q for the gun and E for the shield, or a variation of that. (Altought my brother do use the number keys pretty easilly on Minecraft pvp so it can also totally be just a matter of getting used to as well lol)

Thank you so much for playing our little game and your feedback!

The balancing is something that sure needs more love; the maximum enemy limit was something we planned to add and then forgot to realize in the heat of wrapping it up and submitting. Excellent suggestion with the color cycling idea, I think @Liioni is going to look into that after the jam is over, cause that is definitely an intuitive way to cycle through!

Thanks again and have fun with all the other games of this cool jam!

Thanks for playing the game! I'm glad you had fun with it!

I really really like the Q and E solutions for switching color, I will definitely try it out and see how it feels. I tried to do a shift 1,2 and 3 for the shields at first, but it didn't work on all keyboards and this was the only solution I could think of on top of my head. Note to self for next jam: Play test more! Really good input regarding the controls! Thanks!

My current highscore is 68.

The game is fun, I like that each color corresponds to an actually different enemy and that the game gets intense fast enough.

Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the highscore (mine is 63) and thank you so much for playing our game and the nice feedback!

Really interesting color-based mechanics! The bullet changing colors when going through the shield is a great idea! It was a tad overwhelming to switch between both the bullet and shield colors, I'd recommend maybe using one button to cycle through each? But great work, I can see this evolving into a really unique game.

Thanks for trying out our game! Glad you liked it!

We thought about using the right mouse button / wheel for switching through shields or toggle shield / weapon color selection, but didn't get to implement that in the end! But we are both super hyped about this mechanic and are definitely bringing it with us in the future! Maybe in a sequel?!

The colour mechanic of the bullets and shield is a great idea. I could see how this could really be expanded upon

Developer

Thanks for playing the game!

I'm glad to hear you liked the mechanic! It's definitely something I want to bring with me for another jam, or if we end up going back and adding things to this game. We both really enjoyed it, so it's not out of the picture!

A neat and fun game. Felt a little overwhelming at first, but a more thorough look at the description cleared up a lot about what's all happening. The colour combining mechanic is fun to play around with.

Thanks for playing the game!

The idea was to have levels introducing new enemies and abilities, but it ended up being introducing enemies in waves and not really clearly explaining the colour change of the bullets. I am glad you had fun with it!

Overscoping comes for us all in the end :') but you managed to make it a nice final product for the jam. You've made it, and that's what it's all about.

So many enemy types, it was great that you listed them out on the itch page as well! Was a pretty challenging game with lots of controls to manage, but I liked it. Nice work!

Developer

Thanks for trying out the game! I'm glad you liked it!

The plan was to have more levels and introduce the new enemies more clearly but time ran away from us!
