Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
Most of the sprites were not made by me. Here is the list of pre made sprites I used: https://pimen.itch.io/holy-spell-effect https://szadiart.itch.io/rogue-fantasy-catacombs https://skalding.itch.io/skull-sprite-002 https://thomas-lean.itch.io/assets2

I really get into this, I couldn't stop playing haha! Truly a Dark souls experience ;) Jokes aside this is really good actually. I love the simplicity of it and it's really fun. I love the mechanic that you only get one bullet and the enemies build up over time. Also shooting the laser to clear out the blue skulls is pretty clever and really fun to try and get the perfect shot to take out a few at a time.

I would love to see this expanded and add bosses and what not. You have a really nice game here and the visuals are cool too!

I couldn't hear any sounds though?

Thank you for playing. This was my first gamejam ever so I was having to learn a lot of things for the first time during development. That made this game take way longer to get to a playable state than I thought it would so I didn't have enough time to add audio. I am glad you enjoyed the game and I will definitely keep working on this game after the jam ends.

I liked the game, simple and fun! Well done!

I thought I wouldn't like how the skulls shot at me but it grew on me and ended up being pretty fun. I assume you ran out of time for SFX but at least some sort of ambient looping sound or music would have been nice and likely would have made the lack of SFX not nearly as noticeable. The two enemy types worked well together design wise. I like the holy shot idea, but I feel it should have had a bigger hit box considering the constrictions.

It is really cool that I get the opportunityto kill multiple in one shot. The one downside with this I feel is that because I'm a one hit I'd rather not line up a triple shot because there's a decent chance I'll get hit while doing so. The triple shot feels cooler to do but if I get hit while trying to time it, it feels very punishing.

It was a fun experience. I think you did pretty well gameplay wise.

The different gameplay features fit well together, I like just how punishing it is to miss a skull. Out of context limited ammo is one thing but due to the way you did it your game is a very good implementation of the theme.

It looks good too, nice work, thanks for sharing.

Developer

Thank you for playing. I'm very glad you like the challenge I will make sure to focus on that mechanic more in future updates.

Great game once you get over the learning curve. I loved your take with the theme, and the graphics work really well together. It would've been nice to have some audio and a tutorial, but within the time constraints, this is a wonderful submission. Good job :)

Developer

Thank you for playing it. I'm glad you like the design and yeah some audio is definitely necessary. This was my first game ever and the time given wasn't enough for me to get to that haha. I hope to work on it more complete it soon.

That was a pretty neat idea. I liked that if you get a few shots, your aim upgrades. Also, I like watching skulls grow in the middle for some reason

Developer

Thank you for playing. That skull spawn animation I had to put together really fast with not much Aseprite skills haha I am glad you liked it.
