Best I did was 45400 (wave 14) so far.
I am really happy I could use the arrow keys to move, because with an Azerty keyboard switching to Qwerty to move and switching back to be able to type words would have been insane.
I think the concept is kind of silly so obviously I love it.
The game is fun, the controls feel good, the different types of enemies are fun to deal with and the difficulty is fine, as you advance you'd better not miss typing a word, which I did so I died.

So creative - I skipped the How To Play and the typing minigame was an amazing surprise.
Great interpretation of Limited and I liked the variety in enemy types (B's bullets really caught me off guard)
During the few seconds of downtime between waves I got to appreciate the music and fact you're spewing out letters from a pencil. Honestly the typing part was satisfying enough that I wanted to just keep doing that, great game

so let me get this straight
you are a pencil
you shoot alphabet (and you have limited alphabets, :3)
and when you reload you have to type a word
if you type it correctly you get healed
if not you dont

Really cool and fun game! Great work, it really got me hooked up. I like that you heal when reloading, and the SFX are on point. I lost a pretty good run because I didn’t notice I had the caps active, so it detected my inputs as wrong and I was freaking out until I realized how dumb I was >< but that should be easy to fix :3 In any case, great game, you made me hate the letter X

I think one thing that would help is a tiny pause between completing a word and going back to shooting to give people a little bit of time to reposition their hands, otherwise this game has a brilliant theme and everything feels good! Well done!
I completely agree with you! It was one thing I wanted to add just to give it more polish, like a short animation and text showing up saying "Good job!" or something. It definitely needs that as it's a little clunky trying to rush back to mouse in time, especially if you reload while a bullet is on it's way towards you.

I loved this! It's so creative and cute, and the reload mechanic turned out to be surprisingly fun.
My only complaint is that after a few waves, I thought the gameplay was a little repetitive. I like games to be quite hard, so the difficulty may have just been a bit undertuned for my taste. I quit after completing wave 20, so I could see what the twist was.
Any of the ideas you've mentioned in other comments would help mix things up, especially if something new happens every 5 waves or so. There's so much potential to add creative things onto a simple idea, which I think is really cool!

Thank you for the kind words, I'm so happy you liked it :) You're right in that it needed more to keep it engaging. Time was the cause for that unfortunately. I had a ton of ideas that I wanted to add but just didn't get round to in the end. I'm glad you still enjoyed it despite those missing features though :)
Good for you for making it to Wave 20 though, I tried but couldn't haha. The only thing that wave allows is for up to 3 X enemies at once, and also "extreme" type words that are around 10-12 letters long.
Really cool game, I can see it becoming a full release. The theme, the gameplay are great, love the idea of the typography and only 26 shots, one for each letter. Also, the distortion on the music when low on health is great. I'd only say that the kill effect and the heartbeat while on low health are too loud, but for the rest I think this is one of my favourites. Congrats ^^

This was very nice, I think I enjoyed it the most out of the games I've played so far! My only real gripe is the sounds being extremely loud, but the theming and gameplay were quite nice!
I got to wave 20, but the game reset immediately upon death and didn't allow me to screenshot. : (

You made it to 20!? Oh damn, good job haha! Yea, when you press r after death it restarts, but in hindsight I should have disabled that button input for a few seconds to avoid players accidentally immediately restarting. I believe you though don’t worry haha!

Yeah, I somehow made it after a lot of very close calls, but then died after a few mistyped words. : ( I found it funny when one of the words to type suddenly became a long binary string! Putting in a bit of a delay before restart might indeed be a good idea, maybe I was trying to reload while I died. :D
I find audio balancing to be really weird to get right, I never know what base line to use for the volume since everyone probably has their settings differently... It wasn't too big an issue, though, I just paused and tabbed out to reduce the browser volume at some point!

Waiiitt I love this! You should sell it to schools for typing class lol. For feedback I'd say maybe make the words progressively longer, or make the typing timer get shorter over time. Big fan of this!
Thanks dude :) That was my intention but I ran out of time. After every so many waves you were suppose to choose a "limitation," such as less time to reload, more enemies, easy words get removed, less damage etc. But alas, I didn't have enough time. At wave 20 however it does use a new pack of "extreme" words that are like 10-12 letters long. But not even I can make it to that wave haha!

This was cool! I will admit that the enemy death sound effect scared me at first (my volume was too high so my fault)

I always really adore the most creative games at game jams, and I believe that you've just made one. The typing mini-game is such a cool and out of the box idea that it makes the game very addicting, maybe even just to see what the next word would be :D.
One thing that I'd say is that it was quite weird to let go of the mouse every reload to type the text. Maybe all the player interaction should be contained within the keyboard?

I had so many more ideas that I wanted to add, like a paint brush boss that draws letters (the paint hurts you) and spawns waves of that letter enemy. But alas, no time :/

Fun Game, You've struck a real nice balance for the difficulty, I was on the edge on my seat the entire time. During the last minutes I was like "this is the end... nvm... or is it? ... nvm... or is it? ... ah yeah it is". I was relieved when I finally died. Keeping the player alive by healing on reload was a good choice.
Also I tried saying all the letter in the alphabet as they come out, I was close but not quite there. Try it for yourself it's hard.
On another note ... DUCK YOU C & X! ESPECIALLY X! Worst letter. Duck everyone whose name starts with an X! EVEN YOU XAVIER!!!!
Haha I’m glad you said that, it’s exactly how I felt when playing it. I barely survived for so long it was really intense. I’ll try your challenge too, it’ll probably make me die more though haha.
Yea don’t underestimate those C enemies, they do a TON of damage it they get ya!

You can just infinitely milk the reloading minigame for score. I kept a 'B' alive and kited it around the arena while firing into the walls.
