Gahhh I can't resist a pirate themed bullet hell. This was such a treat. I gave it a couple tries so I could actually use the coins and upgrades I was attaining at the pitstop, but I'd die too quickly lol. I made it to the sea monster on my first run, then on my fourth or fifth run I unlocked all guns and a few mods.
I wish it was easier to attack some enemies because some movement patterns are too fast and I'm not able to land a hit before they're already off the screen. I also think the bullet hit box might be too large because while I'd think it was a mere graze/not even so much as on my ship, I'd be taking damage.
Overall, super enjoyable. Loved the pixel art style, the animations of the waves! For a first time working in Godot as well, it's a splendid game. Great job everyone!
This is fun. The water texture tweaks my weary old eyes out though. Thought I was going to start hallucinating there for a second. Really not sure how I got to the sea king on my first try. On try 20 and can't get to him now. Anyway, nice work!
Thanks for the motivating feedback! First try is a little easier because we have 100% chance for standard cannon to be dropped. After buying stuff it is random if you get a new gun or only upgrade.
I honestly found this game frustrating. Everybody shoots faster than you and directly downward so you basically just have to take damage to defeat them. Sure you get coins but nothing I ever bought showed up on my ship. And going to the Pit Stop didn’t give me anything.

We should have been more explicit; it's not as obvious as I thought. Buying items causes the purple enemy ships to drop these new upgrades, which you can then mount on your ship at the pitstop. The game is quite challenging, but there is a way to shoot down enemies without taking damage. It requires a good deal of agility.
I liked the boat customization but unfortunately couldn't that get far. It's pretty challenging and for some reason I was getting micro hiccups every time an enemy appeared on screen which added to that difficulty.
I'm glad you like it. It turns out the consequences of buying stuff makes it harder to build the best ship because of random drop :D
The hitboxes of the bullets are very large, but the game is really cool😊
