What if Minesweeper, Sudoku, and Voltorb flip had a baby. And that baby was a roguelike.

Rogueswept is a numbers logic game, similar to games like Minesweeper, Sudoku, or Voltorb Flip. The theme 'You Shouldn't Be Here' inspired the narrative of the game, where the protagonist has found themselves in a location that is actively hostile to them even as they seek to escape.

Nice idea and enjoyable implementation. Sadly, it starts lagging from the 5th floor (playing on windows chrome) and at some point become almost unplayable. Very climatic music, it really makes a difference. Interesting sudoku/minesweeper variation, with catchy ideas.

Fun game that took a second to get ahold of but after that pretty fun. Music was the great super chill vibe.

Really well made game! Crazy that you got so much done in a week! Great work overall.

Thanks for playing! : )

I actually didn't start until Feb 9th I think. Other than a few roadbumps, though, this is the smoothest the development on any game I've made has gone.

This is a game for smart people. I realized I am too stupid to play this game. I think a little handy tutorial showing me what to do and not to do would be great, I played like 10 times and I couldn't figure out what I had to do or why I kept triggering the traps.

Thank you for playing.

There is a tutorial in the game, in the form of the information provided through the character dialogue in the first few floors. This information is also made available within the guide book, accessible at all times.

The guidebook updates with information as it is presented by the character dialogue (or at the start of the next floor if you're faster than they are!)

I'm sure if you take a look, you can do it!

Perhaps because I was playing it in windowed mode, it obscures a lot of the text on the right. Also, thats a lot of text, bold of you to assume I am smart enough to read ;)

You have a genuine game here - it could use some performance optimization, and starting from the beginning every time you fail doesn’t make much sense because if you remember the exit tiles you can just skip back to where you were anyways – but this game is super fun for anybody who likes puzzle games.

In a full game, you may want to slightly randomize each level so that the roguelite element of this actually comes through. And I would love to see this turned into a full game.

5/5 stars on all three categories.

Thanks for playing! The first 5-ish levels are designed (to try to force the player to learn the mechanic being taught,) while every level after that is randomly generated. : )

You're definitely right about performance issues. It works better on desktop, I swear! lol (Though the game still starts to lag around floors 10-15 on my machine.)

Ah gotcha! Did not even realize. That’s super cool. In that case I would make it so that on death, you don’t go back through the tutorial levels. Minor gripe really. I would pay for this game if it were just a little further developed – the critque I’m giving is far ahead of the major issues most game jam games have. Good luck to you!

Good news - I was given permission to upload a build where I had resolved some of the framerate issues. (No gameplay/content changes.) Give it a look if you have the time and inclination. : )
