The movement mechanic is unique for sure but the jumping and sliding doesnt seem to be reliably implemented enough so it got very frustrating just trying to jump that first platform.

Yeah you don’t seem to be alone there. Definitely could’ve used some playtesting and fine tuning lol.

The creatures and design are fantastic though, really unique and it sets your game apart from the other games. Great job!

Thanks!

Noted. I think this was a case of, because I had designed it and knew what to do, I was actually worried that it was too easy. I probably should’ve gotten somebody to do some playtesting.

Super unique take on theme. Very difficult games, though. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if this were to be developed into a full game I’d definitely want to see some additional levels that smooth out the learning curve. Solid work.

Well this was an experience

Noted!

What I at first thought was going to be a very boring mini-metroidvania suddenly turned into a outside-the-box thinking and quite enjoyable precision platformer. The art is phenomenal, and the character controls are very responsive. Well done.

5/5/5 ratings from me.

Looking slick, frog

Ah gotcha! Did not even realize. That’s super cool. In that case I would make it so that on death, you don’t go back through the tutorial levels. Minor gripe really. I would pay for this game if it were just a little further developed – the critque I’m giving is far ahead of the major issues most game jam games have. Good luck to you!

Adorable little game. Not much to do after the first 5 orchids have grown, but I get that it was made in a rush for a jam. Would be cool to see this developed into a full Stardew Valley-like game centered around apiculture!

4/4/4 ratings from me. Not exceptional, but overall good stuff.

Adorable art style and animation, and impressive UI polish. Unfortunately not much to say in the way of gameplay, but c’est la vie — not every game has to tread new ground. I could easily see this as a time-killer mobile game given it had more levels.

4/5/5 rating from me.

You have a genuine game here - it could use some performance optimization, and starting from the beginning every time you fail doesn’t make much sense because if you remember the exit tiles you can just skip back to where you were anyways – but this game is super fun for anybody who likes puzzle games.

In a full game, you may want to slightly randomize each level so that the roguelite element of this actually comes through. And I would love to see this turned into a full game.

5/5 stars on all three categories.

Glad it was challenging! The camera should be zooming out when you move faster, but you can’t see very far in the dark, after all.

Awesome! Yeah I designed the game for fullscreen and didn’t really think about the fact it was going to be played in browser. Glad you enjoyed.

Couple of issues you may want to address before submissions close and rating starts.

When the game first loads, it just is a white screen for a good 20-30 seconds before anything happens. There’s no indication that it’s loading or doing anything. I refreshed the page a couple of times, thinking it was broken – which reset that time.

Also, when the game did load, I thought it was just poorly designed – apples can spawn at a height which is both too low for you to go under and too high for you to jump over. That is, until I completely accidentally tapped space twice quickly and realized there’s a double jump. You may want to include a note that there’s a double jump lol.

(My highest score was 11)

Hey thanks! Appreciate you trying it out.

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed the music. - the composer.

Hi! Sorry about this. It's due to a bug with the graphics library wrapper I used not being compatible with .mp3 format audio on Linux specifically. I didn't find out about his until after the fact. Thanks for stopping by anyways.

The sound, art, and animation quality is super high. The concept is interesting enough to build a more realized game out of, I think, but as of this version the level design could use some work. All in all really well done!

I like the idea! Ideally I'd just program in key remapping, I just didn't get around to it in the time window. If I ever expand or polish up this game in the future, QOL features like being able to restart the game after dying would be implemented as well lol. Glad you enjoyed.

This is a super cool game! I think there are some situations where the game can be softlocked, but aside from that it's a really fun concept and it's super polished

Controls are WASD X K, and more info on game page.
