I think this is a really interesting idea! I hadn't heard of the Miyawaki method before, so I think your blurb plus the gameplay gave me a pretty good idea of how it works! That said, I would love for that blurb or something similar to be in-game, rather than in the description. As for the aesthetics, I think the game looks great! I would work on the sound design though. I imagine you're using placeholder sounds right now, but consider what kind of sounds evoke nature, and see if that helps with the game's ambience. Speaking of, it would be interesting to see if you could have nature sounds that slowly grow in volume as you plant; you're essentially creating a forest, after all. Having that natural ambience, and diegetic sounds would really improve the gamefeel. Overall, I'm very excited to see what else comes out from this project, great work!
It is a really neat idea using the Miyawaki method to increase carbon capture. You might want to add some mechanic to show growth, starting with a couple tiny existing patches to see the pattern or some other indication to more unfamiliar players as to what provides increased carbon capture. As an educator I could see this having applications in my classroom education setting.
It was fun planting trees! Maybe you can add a level system and some feed back with explanations? Right now the game is a bit dull. There is very little sound for example.
This game is already very playable. There are a lot of things you can choose to do next to help make this game more and more enjoyable. It almost feels like Tetris in a weird way, where I'm trying to find the best spot for each piece. I can't wait for this game to look more and more beautiful as the sprint goes on.
The mechanics are straight forward. It's a playable game so that's great! A good looking prototype. I'd say include more explanations and when you can add a little more to the game to make it enjoyable.
Nice meditative experience, and it teaches people something new, good job. This prototype is basically a game already it just needs some more bang, in particular the success feedback, tho imho it should be kept as simlpe as possible, but I'm sure you'll work it out.
Is this a good score?
For success feedback: we're planning on adding a button that ends the game (with a confirmation dialogue) after 100% forestation progress which will record your high score. For successful placement: we are adding shake & particles.
This is my highscore:
Thanks for playing!
