Really nice use of lighting and interior design principles.
Trying to re-create the Superliminal perspective resizing mechanic for a jam game is pretty ambitious. So it being a bit buggy is to be expected, but overall I'm impressed with what you pulled off.
The loud sound jumpscare at the end was a bit of a cheap shot at your players.
Hi! Thanks! The ending was my idea, shame on me :D It was implemented in a rush. Now, I've came up with several ideas how to properly end the game. Will redo the ending after the jam :)
Thank you!
And this is even the first UE project for our coder, Flaming Man!
Final jump scare is indeed a bit atonal thematically, we'll make the ending more fitting the setting after the rating ends.
The level design is fantastic, cool central mechanic too. The sound at the end made me jump a fucking mile though haha!
Thank you very much! Glad you liked it!
The level design, the ambience, the lighting, the puzzles, they were all so interesting! I have to say the ending would have been even better if it was just a contemplative ending, staring at the beings in the background and saying something. Overall, the game is great! Has a great sense of atmosphere!
Thank you for playing.
Yes, the ending is indeed a bit cheap for the game. Glad you liked the puzzle design!
Very nice level design.
The main rooms and corridors really sell the vibe of you spelunking through some ancient monumental structure.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice visuals and interesting level design. A respawn system would be really nice so you don't have to start the whole game again every time you mess up a puzzle
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Indeed a respawn and a couple other quality of life features would be nice, but 2 of the 3 devs are completely new to UE, so we did what we could with the time :)
Cool.
The cubes are a bit janky. One time one of the green cubes got really small, freaked out and clipped through the map. Toning down the push force the player applies to the cubes and giving the player some air control would be nice.
Also, first UE5 game I've played that doesn't run like crap.
Thanks!
Agreed, the green cubes really could use some fine-tuning at least.
And yes, we've paid attention to the performance. Glad that it's appreciated.
Very good use of lighting and textures. I liked the Superliminal style puzzles, but sometimes the cube got so big it didn't fit the room. Great game.
Thanks for the feedback, and really glad you liked it! Aniki-ta did the environment while inspired by Villeneuve's movies.
Indeed, there are some issues with the perspective scaling mechanic, it proved to be harder to implement than we anticipated.
