Nice game! one thing I would suggest is making the text skip to all being on the screen if the player clicks bc I found myself waiting for the text when I could have read it faster.

Nice idea. It's the only submission I've seen on walking story-like games. I am not sure how could I influence what was happening tho, but I really enjoyed the art and the story. One important fix is to add the ability to skip the dialogue loading time. I read much faster than the game was showing which was a bit nerve-cracking for me.
Adding gameplay to this kind of game isn't that complicated. Add followers that you meet on your path which have sinergies between them and that you have to juggle, like a risk-reqard follower that will rob you unless you find a jail in the following 6 encounters, for example. Just a random idea :) I'm pretty confident you can push it to greatness! good job.
