Beautiful game with great atmosphere, I think I never felt that scared about some runes

The problem I had though were the puzzles being a little too cryptic to get without the cheat sheet, also, but it could be just due to my machine getting too old for such graphics : it was very laggy...

A chance I'm too stubborn to give up due to slow fps, but still a pity

Other than that, it was a good game!

The puzzle is so damn well executed but it is quite hard to know what you have done and how it affects the puzzle. The lever is also blended in so well with the wall that on my first time playing, I couldn't see the lever.

"United in death"

The game was not easy and took me some mapping and taking notes for the library sequence, I really liked that. The puzzle with all the levels where the solution is simple to execute but a bit hidden behind the NPC dialog was great too, just cryptic enough.

I like the time pressure, if you can't die then you don't feel like you're inside a scary place.

The game is too slow and I can't help but liking some combat even when it's super simple but what's there is pretty good, congratulations.

Developer

Thank you ! For the combat yeah, we didn't think we could do something interesting with it so we didn't add any, and yeah we need more balancing on the speed of the game (especialy in the library) !

I have a problem with fps here. After first dialogue when i am transported into prison cell i got big drop of fps (from 60 to 10) . Is there a way to avoid that? I see your game is really well made and i would like to experience it fully

Developer(+1)

Yeah we are aware of that :/ we wanted to use Unity HDRP for the project (with ray tracing and all) but we badly optimised it. After the end of the jam we'll update all the project on URP (look the same) but it will give us a great boost in performances !

Any way to disable some of these features in the currentl version? Used nvidia control panel to reduce some stuff, but doesnt seem to have a major impact. Once indoor framerate drops down to 1 fps, which jumps to 3 fps every now and then.

This is a really nice game, the music was awesome, well done !

Very nice entry, I really enjoyed it. I loved music in the library and I think I'll hallucinate this library for quite a while now because of around 10 attempts before I finally beat it.

Hardest thing on the first level was that after you solve second puzzle (long corridor with switches) you actually need to know that you can pull switch from across one square, and you don't need to stand in the square next to it. Took me couple of attempts to figure that out (by accident) and then had an "aha" moment.

Time pressing is brutal, especially in the second level, where you need to remember all the rotations and build a mind map in the head, but any slight mistake will lead to a failure. I was surprised to find a time reset by the end (by accident).

What a fantastic entry! The art and graphics are spot on. I absolutely loved the atmosphere you managed to create.

The crawl, although brutal, was very fun to play through. I love a tough challenge. Thank you so much for this!

I’d love to see a more fleshed out version that eases the player into the puzzles a little more. That said, great work!

Thank you for testing our game !

We also think that our game needs a more balanced curve of difficulty. But we are pleased our puzzles were gratifying to solve !

Great atmosphere, art an music go very well together. Puzzles took too much time.

Movement felt a bit too slow, especially with the amount of walking you have to do. The portals back to the archivist were a big help, but still...

Amazing graphic style and audio. The torches look fantastic. I love the atmosphere.

I love lever puzzles as they are an important element to any dungeon crawler together with spinners, random teleports, spiked traps and trap doors. However this game just had way too many levers and too early in the game. I just wasn't abole to solve it. It's a shame because I would really like to see the rest of the game. Other than that, what I saw is really impressive!

I feel that one should be able to skip the dialogues, at least the 2nd time you play it.

I wish there were controls for left handed too (arrow keys and/or numpad)

The credits screen didn't work for me.

Developer

Hello,

Glad you enjoyed the game !

I uploaded a more detailed cheat sheet for the prison level.

I am sorry to see that this level was too hard..

Hope you'll try again to see the other levels !

Oh wow, the intro exposition scene is amazing! The visuals and mood were extremely strong. I was sucked in instantly. I also really like the puzzle mechanic.

The first room was a perfect amount of starting difficulty. The hallway after that was quite a difficulty jump. Honestly this game is really impressive. One thing though - it was hard to make the dialog go away. I would read it, then click, and it wouldn't go away until I waited for a few seconds and then clicked. I read faster than the game gave me credit for!

Please upload in .zip format in the future. Many users won't have a .7z unzipper installed. Also it complains that UnityPlayer.dll isn't found. I happen to be a Unity dev so I know what files it needs, I copied them from one of my builds into a folder and I could run it. I don't think many people will go through this effort so sadly you may not get many reviews.

Thank you for your feedback ! We tried to make a dungeon crawler that is more about understanding the story behind the dungeon and its inhabitants. The library is quite hard to figure out at first, and we would've liked to add a few more mechanics to the game, but except that we are proud of the game :)

As soon as the voting period end I'll upload the right files and try to fix these issues !

Good strategy. You should be proud of it!
