This was a unique entry, I haven't played a text-input dungeon crawler in the jam so far and don't think I did last year either!
Right off the bat the text-input was very nice. As someone who spends a lot of time in terminal at work I really appreciate both the tab-completion and the ability to access previous commands with the arrow keys! That was very polished and it worked generally intuitively. The only time's I experienced real confusion was when trying to look at the mannequin-like figures they had no corresponding description. This was very confusing in the early game when trying to figure out what I needed to do with the door. And it also lead me to not thinking the combat encounters were combat encounters. Maybe that last part was intentional though?
I also found it confusing in the first room where opening the door doesn't move or delete the door, or the figure in front of the door. I was inside that cabin for an extra couple minutes wondering what the hell else I was supposed to do before I tried walking through the door.
Back to the positives, the visuals are awesome! Gives off strong MS-DOS vibes that I love, and combined with the text input and pixel art in the interface feels like something that could have existed in the 90's. The forest had a very foreboding atmosphere, and combined with the various notes talking about the conflict between locals and pagans in the past had me thinking I was going to see increasingly weird or horrifying stuff. And combined with the statue figures pointing out hidden areas and talking then disappearing it was pretty eerie. Unfortunately I never got to see if it got weirder because I ran out of healing potions and died.
Thats my biggest feedback of the game, either add more healing potions or dial down the damage/health of the enemies and I think you're gold. Well that and addressing the confusion with the first room.
But this is a very interesting game and setting, so I hope you do update it. Great work!

I got to be an amish dude in what I imagine to be a weird sex dungeon with panelling. with taxidermy. The taxidermy was a nice tough.
I got to attack pointer-mike.

I wonder, does the game actually ends when you reach the entity? Probably not but I just want to be sure I'm not looking for something if there's nothing to look for.
The game is great, I'm gonna leave my detailed impressions later.
I’m happy to see the text input, it’s a cool system. And I love the quirky vibe of it all.
It’s currently a struggle to do anything in this game though. Would love movement keys, accepted synonyms for common prompts like speak/talk, look/examine/x, and shorthands like “punch” if there’s only one target, or “attacks” instead of “description attacks”. Maybe a clickable UI element to show/hide a little cheat sheet.
Was initially stuck at the beginning not realizing I had opened the door already. Often seems like you are in range of stuff that the game reports doesn’t exist when you try to interact with them, like doors and the mannequin-like people scattered about. But I do of course know that all these things take time you may not have when you’re crunching to submit for a jam.
The combat seems a bit difficult, but maybe I was just to lazy to type something to heal myself :)
But for real, the text input works very well, because you implemented some auto completion stuff, which is great. The sound was alright, but the show stealer is the graphics, just wow...I would pay money for an old school first person adventure with this style. What else...the mannequins pointing somewhere and then finding a chest by following the direction was pretty satisfying :)
As someone who's been getting into a MUD recently, I enjoyed the text interface - even if I did half-expect directional commands to work. :P The level and enemy design are neat, the nonstandard attacks and hidden areas are fun. I did make it to the end, although I used a glitch to avoid most enemy encounters.

not sure if it's intentional but there's something that works really well here about how the "Look" command refuses to acknowledge these dudes are there. makes me feel like I'm loosing my mind seeing these fanatics everywhere and the game is like fanatics, what fanatics?
love the vibe of the game, great visuals and super cool that you went with a text based interaction system
Unique idea which has potential. With a few more verbs and some typed commands for movement, this would be something great. Like Cpt Coder said, I couldn't make it to the end because I would run out of healing potions, although I think I found all the "secrets" that the people point towards. Good stuff!
I didn't have much time to test the combat, so when I realized it was impossible it was too late :( Anyway, thank you very much for the feedback, I'll be playing your entry in a while!
I personally love text based parser games. It was a little bit awkward, but, I did figure it out! I would have loved a way to navigate using keyboard controls with “Enter” to start typing in a command.
The combat was really hard in this one. I couldn’t quite figure out a working strategy and never made it through to the end.
The creepy atmosphere you created was fantastic.
You may have seen in my playthrough but, the perspective was really odd as the FOV was really wide which made things feel distorted as you moved / rotated the camera. It made it really easy to get lost as I couldn’t see the turns on the left / right of me.
Overall, a good entry! Thanks for sharing it!
I did the combat system on the last day, that's why it doesn't fit with everything else and it's impossible. The fov and the view were okay when I tried it with cubes and without textures but when I put the textures everything was distorted haha. Anyway, thanks for the feedback and I'll play your game later!
I really like the pixelated and ms-dos'y visuals, especially outside.
The perspective view was a little bit off, because it's difficult to see if there are exits to left and right. It's very easy to miss those when you are walking outside. I had to walk sideways back and forth to be sure I didn't miss any exits.
A dungeon crawler with typing is a cool idea and this is a decent attempt.
I could never find a way to move around using keyboard. I had to use mouse to click on the navigation icons.
Yes, I thought that switching between walking and not walking would be tedious, now I see that it is more tedious to just walk with the mouse haha. Thanks for the feedback!
