Good character comments on catched items. It can be turned into a game with a good story and upgrades, like buying a better magnet from the store.

The artwork is so cute. I found +250 Gold many times and had a good time. I love it!

Couldn't run it:

panic: open assets/catch/catch.json: no such file or directory

I see the asset in question but I guess the relative filepathing isn't working quite right for some reason

I found you can get around this by running the program from the command line in its own directory. E.g.

cd magnet-fishing
./magnet-fishing

If you double-click the icon instead, I think Mac OS uses your home directory as the working directory, so it can't find the files.

Hey, I’m sorry about that, I guess I had to use Go’s embed earlier. Now I fixed it and also now there’s an opportunity to try it in browser: https://hzoltan.itch.io/epic-magnet-fishing

Cool!

I like your art animations, the character is really strong!

So is there an optimal strategy about holding the mouse to increase the accuracy? I think I found out the optimal gathering of gold/min was through single clicks (on my most accurate mouse)

Congrats on your first time using Go and Ebitengine, this is definitely a lot to absorb at first, you managed to do well!
I hope you enjoyed both the language and the library and that it made you want to go forward :)
