Great and nostalgic game!! I like it a lot!! It remembered me to old arcade days :D I will improve of this game the controllers as they feel a bit unresponsive sometimes, also I think than it will be best to change the game names and makes them look a bit different to avoid copyright issues as that games have still copyright…

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 5!

So there are a few different things I feel I need to address. I'm going to start with the concept itself.

I legitimately like this concept of playing a game on what's supposed to be a small device trying to project a holograph. It helps sell the use of 3D graphics. I could see this being a very useful idea in a bigger game concept.

While playing, I noticed several input bugs going on. For some games, responses were oddly delayed while for others they behaved in weird ways. The biggest issue of this latter issue is in Pac-Man, where if you try to start your turn just as you're moving into the spot, you instead turn around completely. I know from having an arcade unit with the original game that you're supposed to be able to start your turns early to avoid stopping, but this seems to not let that happen. This sort of thing could be bad. Another example of a input bug was on Tetris when trying to turn pieces against an end. Again, the original lets you do so and simply forces the centre of the block to one side. This doesn't happen with your version.

Also, the ability to pause the games and review controls without going to the launcher would be great.

With all of this said, there's one last issue I want to address. It's something I make a point of doing for any game that I think could have this problem: the legality of the game. Even if this is something you offer for free to people, the use of what are copyrighted games and trademarked characters could land you in hot water. As much as I love what this does, I always advise people to be careful with this sort of thing.

As I said before, I could see this being a very useful idea with a bigger game concept. Maybe something where the player has to play an original game on the screen and complete it but has other issues going on similar to what Game & Wario does with the 9-Volt minigames, where you're trying to pretend to be asleep while playing games. This could lead to some fun ideas.

Overall, concept is great and I want more.

This is a really cool concept! A lot of these games were absolute favorites of mine as a kid. Unfortunately, I had a pretty buggy experience when playing. I took some notes that will hopefully be helpful:

I really love the art style. Most of these games look fantastic

UI:

The game needs a proper pause screen that shows you the controls and lets you back out to the main menu without restarting. The window suddenly resizing into the launcher was super jarring, and the launcher only had quit application options


Difficulty:

- Some of the games feel way to hard at level 1 compared to their originals. Frogger, Space Invaders and Rally X were particularly guilty of this. Frogger, the turtles dunk way too often for level 1. In all the Frogger iterations I've seen up to now, most turtles don't even dunk in early levels, whereas in this version almost all of them do. Space Invaders it doesn't feel like the invaders start high enough up, and playing relatively well puts you into a massive space crunch if even a single front row enemy gets left. Rally X feels like someone gave the Pacman ghosts caffeine pills. They're super highly aggressive. I never stood a chance


Frogger

- Had an issue where jumping on a water based platform would sometimes cause frogger to no longer die when jumping in water, but also be unable to jump into end zones or take damage from cars. Problem would persist when the time ran out and when starting the game over from the main menu. Had to restart the game

Pinball:

- Had a random game freeze while playing. I had all 5 greens, 4 blues and 3 reds when it froze. Not sure if that's related or not, because I had achieved that at least once before without a freeze


Tetris - 

Input cooldowns between flips are way too long, making the game feel stiff. I can often see what I want to do but cannot flip the pieces fast enough to accomplish it. 

Could really use a hard drop feature as well as ghosts to show you where your piece is going to land if you do nothing, because with the angle the camera is at it isn't always easy to tell.

The tetraminos would look a lot better if you added lines between the grid blocks instead of having them be smooth. Most of the games I love the art for, but this one didn't gel for me


Rally X - when I respawned I saw the smoke placed during my previous life still despawning


PacMan: 

- The lives meter does not deplete

- When pressing a direction PacMan can't go in because of a wall, he'll just turn in a random available direction, usually right into a ghost. In arcade pac man, holding a button you can't go in will cause nothing to happen until a path in that direction opens up, at which point you move in it. Without that the game feels terrible to play

Asteroids:

Got spawn killed. The player needs iFrames when respawning


I want to reiterate that I think this is a super cool project! Just needs a bit of polish. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Really nice concept, old games brought into a 3D plane looks fantastic. I especially enjoyed Space Invaders in the 3D format, admittedly though, it was hard to gauge where they were exactly with hitbox. Some bugs were there, pinball softlocked and Asteroids let me play a little longer even though I gameovered. Pinball felt slow, Pacman felt super clunky too. However, it was an overall fun and somewhat nostalgic experience.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, watching your stream I see all the games were super laggy, more so than other playthroughs I've seen  :(  But I enjoyed watching you play them (sorry about the bugs) and I took away some useful notes. 

I think it's a super cool concept.  Tetris, Frogger(minus a weird bug where you go off the play area), Space Invaders, and Pac-Man were really well done.  I think you've done a really good job recreating the games.  It sounds like the music and some sound effects are from the original games.  I could be wrong, but it definitely sounded like it.

Really cool recreations, and each title is pretty darn impressive.

I love the take on holographic arcade games from old times, I enjoyed it. Found some bugs, honestly its the same bugs Paladin met. I told him the frog one which was a funny bug, it would be fun as a hidden feature. XD There are a few others, as for this game, unless this is a learning project, you might want to change it up to parody arcades with same mechanics instead of straight up, if you want to stay safe on the copyright side, as the original games are still owned and resold by their owners. But if it's a learning or non-profit project that stays off commercial radars, its okay but still, better to be cautious.

Thanks for the playthrough and feedback :)  This was originally a learning project which I continue to work on as a strictly non-commercial fan game to try and improve on my skills, so hopefully it stays on the right side of any of the licence holders.

Thanks for playing! It's so helpful to watch someone play the game, especially in terms of usability. I definitely need to add a cancel button to each game so you can exit without having to wait to lose all your lives. I noticed your issue with the sounds being low, but there is a settings button (top right) where you can adjust the volume. Yeah, the turning of pac-man is counter-intuitive but reflects how the original arcade game works. Thanks for pointing out the bug with Frogger. I'll investigate further.
