Nice concept mate,

It would be great to have the rotation control set on the mouse to be more reactive, quick and precise. Also it feels like some degres of inclination gives you the same speed, therefor it is a bit hard to control how fast you want to move your character. Hope it helps ! Again nice concept and keep it up strong.

Thanks so much for playing and for your feedback! I’m afraid this is beyond my knowledge and I don’t think it’s even feasible in the RPG Maker engine unfortunately as it’s fairly limited T-T But I will look into it once I abandon my 56926th project!

I love the concept! Easy to grasp, and addictive.

I only got to the second level, but each time I died it felt like I could do better (even if I didn't).

I also liked how the little creature would be swinging its arms as it was sliding around, and smiling when it wasn't :)

Developer

Thank you very much for taking the time to try it and for your comments, sorry to hear you didn't get past the second level ^^; Yeah I liked the little character too, it's fairly basic but you get to like it and feel sorry for them being rocked back and forth eventually xD

so initially i just rated this game and left it at that, but i kept coming back to try the last level! its a great idea for a game! if you arent developing this for mobile i would to that too, the would be so funn with gyroscope function!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks so much for your feedback! Glad you got back to it to finish the last level! Indeed it would be fun on mobile, especially with gyroscope functions, but I don't know I'll have the required knowledge for that. Will deffo look into it though!

needless to say, this is quite genious idea.

also the aesthetics with the sans serif bold tall font over there in contrast with the lowres pixelated scenario quite beautiful.

the music even changes with the tilt, wow!

one change I would add to this is to make it 2d physics based, it would make this more chaotic and open opportunities for very creative manouvers.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing it and for your feedback! If you have time, can you elaborate a bit more on "2d physics based"? Sounds like an interesting idea!

This game surprises! How can it ever come to anyone's head?! Quite simple and quite enjoyable. Great Work!

Ha ha, thanks so much, I'm glad you liked the concept! ^^

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 6! My name's Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts and streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live on my stream.

I had a lot of fun figuring out how this worked and getting the hang of it. When I got to the final phase, my impatience resulted in quite a few losses.

I think mouse controls for this could go over well, making it that the player "grabs" the world and tilts it like that. Simply base it on which side of the world they grab and moving up or down moves that side up or down respectively. This isn't to say the keyboard controls aren't working, I just felt it would have a smoother experience is done with a mouse. There's more room for control and tighter movements.

I also want to note that initially, starting stages threw me off. The first time you're on a screen, the level music is playing and everything seems to be saying it's go time, but it doesn't work. It took me a moment to realize I had to progress through some text by using my mouse or keyboard. I'd just sat having a "Press Z when Ready" message at the top of the screen would alleviate this.

Other than that, fantastic prototype. I want more!

Thanks so much for playing and streaming! I see that the final level gave you a bit of a hard time ^^; Will look into adding mouse control, I was thinking at first that it might be a bit of a pain switching back and forth from one side of the screen to the other with the mouse cursor, but it could actually work in conjunction with the directional buttons, so that may be an option. Thanks again!

I think you're misinterpreting the use I'm suggesting. So you can left click and hold to "grab" one side. You then slide up or down to tilt. The side that tilts is based on the side your mouse is on (so if you don't have an even number resolution, you'll need one). Since it can go up OR down, you'd be able to change everything from one side if you so desire. Just if you move to the other, it would behave like one would expect. You could even make it based on how far to one side (so closer to centre makes it turn way faster than if you're on the edge of the playing field).

A very fun concept, the tilting would feel right at home on a mobile device. The levels weren't easy but had just the right amount of challenge to not feel frustrating.

(🐞 I found a bug: sometimes the player fails to change color in level with the pepper and ice cone. Not sure what triggers this specifically though. It's just visual, the speed change works fine despite the color being wrong.)

Some notes:

- Looks like the BG volume was already tweaked a week ago, but I feel it's still too high by default. The lowest audible setting (20%) was an alright level but since the music is very arcade-repetitive I would personally prefer an even lower volume. I was playing using headphones though so that could change things a bit.

- About the controls, they felt a bit slow at first but after a level of two were pretty good. A sensitivity setting for a potential full game would be a very good thing to have though. And perhaps making the player accelerate a bit faster.

Overall, a fun prototype! ^^

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it! Very useful feedback too! ^^

Interesting gameplay with the tilting of the screen. I imagine the concept could work nicely as a simple mobile game where you physically tilt the phone to play (just an idea).

I managed to complete all levels but it wasn't easy^^

I feel the controls over the tilting could be improved. Maybe with a smoother and more progressive tilt ? I'm not sure but I would often overshoot and end up dying in spikes :(

I'm aware that's kind of the whole point of the challenge though :)

Other notes :

- The music feels way too loud even if I set it at 20%.

- The instruction text for each level should only appear the first time I think. Having to skip it after dying when you just want to retry right away kinda breaks the flow of gameplay.

- Also, a minor thing : In addition to arrow keys, I would add WASD controls for people used to those.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and for your feedback! I've just uploaded a new version adressing some what you listed, namely the volume and the intro text not reappearing upon retry. As for the tilting controls, I understand it needs some getting used to control it, I'll see if I get more feedback about this in the future. Thanks again!
