Hello and welcome to Feedback Quest 6! My name's Hythrain, and I'm one of the hosts and streamers for this event! I'm writing this feedback live after having played your game!

So this is the second luck-based game I came across. I will admit, I strongly dislike luck based games like this as I traditionally have bad luck and games like this tend to not go well for me. I never felt like rolls were ever in my favor, as either the computer would do amazing as if it knew what was coming or when it did do poorly I'd do just as bad, if not worse, and not be able to do anything anyway. Between that and a lack of healing between rounds, it felt like I had no agency. Meanwhile, using items doesn't make sense to me. I assume the idea is your cards are supposed to match the requirements of the item, but the one time I had the requirements and tried to use an item it didn't seem to do anything.

Luck-based games like this can feel punishing for people who don't have good luck. I would highly recommend some new functionality to give the player some control over their side of rolls beyond the rerolls.

Hi thanks for your feedback, I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the game as much. The items and mechanic currently being placed are  just ideas I try to implement to make the game a bit interesting. I admit the game is not as polished as I want it to be, the rerolls and items were some things I want to add and improve on in future updates. Thanks for the feedback as it gives me something to work towards for future updates, hope you can try it again when it is in a better state.

It's not any fault of you or the game, it's just my own personal bias. The more luck seems to be involved in a game, especially at the detriment of strategy, the more I'm not a fan of it.

It's OK but what is "Full House"?

Developer

Hi "full house" is a term in poker when you have a 3 of a kind and 1 pair of a different shape. I guess i didn't fully explain things properly in my description, I will surely add more description on the game.

I really like the idea, there's some really good potential. Maybe you could introduce a mechanic where you can heal but would have to sacrifice one of the dice.

Also, I think the bug happens if you pre-select one of the dice and then either attack or defend. It then gets confused in the next round. So maybe have it reset something whenever you perform an attack/defend.

Developer

Hi it looks like others are saying healing is lacking, currently I am looking at a more slay the spire campfire area, where player could either pick an item or heal to full. But this is currently something I'm implementing and experimenting. Regarding the bug it looks like when attack/defend is pressed when a dice was pressed and never reroll, the dice texture isn't updating properly I'll be sure to fix it. Thanks for the feedback.

It's a fun concept!  I could see this doing very well with some items that effect gameplay, and maybe a shared  pool similar to poker so you could mess up opponents moves.  Also of course sounds and such.

Keep it up!  It's a good prototype.

Nice little game. With some sound / music and some polish it could be really nice.

I think there is a bug sometime when you reroll, some of the selected cards don't reroll and some of the unselected ones do. Or maybe I misunderstood how it's supposed to work. Also is a draw possible ? I played a game where we both reached 0 at the same turn but it said I lost :( To be fair the enemy did more damage^^

Developer (1 edit)

Hi thanks for playing the game, looks like the bug does happen, I'll look into it and see how I can fix it. Regarding draws, I think I will be keeping this since it makes the game a bit interesting, and players can lose if they don't get lucky or plan ahead. But there will be more changes soon to make players not be in the mercy of having a good draw.

For the sounds/music I'll see what I can do to find stock sounds to make it better.

Thanks again for playing, I hope I can polish the game more so you can enjoy it soon.
