Hi, I'm a 15 years old and i started to learn pygame so I started making this game in dec 2020 and finished it in jan 2021. I saw this game jam and i thought I should submit my project here. I hope you will like it :D
i had to disable windows defender but it was fine. I liked the controls and the visuals!
I just want to say wonderful job on this game. 15 year old prodigy haha. I very much enjoyed playing. I think you should space out and spread the difficulty out some more, so the player can explore the levels on a more linear path, not just certain things all at once! Small details can definitely go a long way! Also, for this jam page, you should consider adding some screenshots of your game! Let the bypassers know what's up xD. Nonetheless, great job. Keep it up!
Well done, I really like the character and the environments. I think a little more animation could go a long way, like for jump/death and the lava but it still looks good already. The movement felt good, the jump was precise and not too fast or floaty. I think my main criticism would be level design, death pits and spikes are both introduced at the same, so you dont really have time to get a feel for the platforming before requiring a precise jump. Also the ceilings were lower than the max jump height so some of those challenges felt a bit clunky because they interrupt your jump path (especially the part where theres a platform over lava with the rocks falling). Another benefit to adding a death animation would be that it gives the player a moment to see how and where they died and learn better from their mistakes. Overall I think this is a great start and has alotta potential.
