Almost broke my keyboard trying to get past 10 fish, fun if my arms didnt hurt right now

The art aint the best, only a few blobs that look to be made in 10 minutes, the idea is decent though, reminding me of Stardew valley with how they fish though also completely different.

The difficulty curb is also a bit high, if you dont mash your keyboard like a madman, you wont go past score 7

The game was actually inspired by Stardew's fishing minigame so we are pleased that it's translated in the final product!

As for the art, we had ran in to many issues with sprites that lead to the game not functioning properly so the placeholder primitives had to stay in the final cut ;-;

I agree that the difficulty curb is insanely steep and some finetuning should fix that issue.

I enjoy fishing in games and I enjoy mashing buttons this combined both perfectly as well as giving a sequel to the much needed critically acclaimed activity of fishing, Maybe adding art of fish would have been nice but overall I thought you did good!

Developer

Thank you for enjoying our game! we actually did have a fish sprite but for some reason it caused the whole game to stop running so we unfortunately had to remove it for the final product ;-;

it is however good to know that even without proper sprites it is still an enjoyable experience

Interesting game, cant get a score past 49 though

my arm hurt :(

fish should respawn to a new position rather than continuing on from the previous fish's location.

maybe the rate at which the bar moves every frame should slow down rather than being a linear function. or perhaps on harder levels the amount you pull by every press should slightly increase.

because of the 2 previous things i felt like 10 was the last achievable goal before becoming impossible, so i probably would stop playing after catching my 11th fish as i would feel accomplished, of course i don't quite feel accomplished since i didn't manage to catch said fish, but maybe that's the intention, as i will be hooked in the next few days trying to catch it

game is very responsive and fun. I really like the addicting aspect of trying to catch as many fish as possible. But after 10 its almost impossible without excessive mashing

game feels practically impossible past fish 7, however it is a fun little masher

Good game.

The only two pieces of feedback i have is that the game gets extremely hard after the 7th fish, and i think it's hard to progress past that. The other thing is that when you catch a fish, the fish circle is still inside the catch area so if you spam space bar enough it's easy to catch multiple fish in one go. Was this intentional? If i was to offer some feedback on the second part, I would respawn the fish circle away from the catch area.

I agree the difficulty shouldn't be a linear increase as that evidently quite easily gets too hard too quick. The fish staying in the same position wasn't an intentional feature, just a product of inexperience,  and your suggestion of a new fish is very insightful thank you.
