Theme interpretation
We interpreted the theme very literally. The hero actually uses the moon as a power source / ammo to shoot at enemies.

Really awesome game! It has it all, beautiful minimalist pixel art, cool music, good level design, great feedback from our actions, smooth controls, upgrades, store…and lots of action.
It kind of gives me vibes of Cave Story and Flashback games both mixed together.
I had a lot of fun playing! Well done!
Great game, I love this kind of games, reminds me of Deadbolt!
Gameplay itself feels smooth and nice, good work!
Hey Haxe buddies o/ :D!
Very solid entry! Maybe a little repetitive though, but the juice is here (particles <3).
My feedbacks :
- I found the minimap to much zoomed, it was difficult to read
- Maybe too much momentum on the characters?
- For your aiming issue with the gamepad, can I suggest you to try an auto-aim, maybe?
- Aaand the rest have been already said below :)
Good job!
Really good submission! I thought the graphics and effects were really nice, especially the water effect and the gratuitous amount of blood splatter. It felt heavily inspired by Risk of Rain. I managed to make it to the boss at the end, but their flying form finished me off and I didn't have time to replay through it. The gun play felt a little repetitive, and the jumping was a bit buggy / imprecise. I also thought the theme interpretation was lacking, because the fact the gun was a "moon gun" didn't affect the gameplay at all. I think if you leaned into the rogue-like mechanics with procedural maps it could be very easily fleshed out into a full game.
You made this in a month?! That's amazing!
Lots of gameplay for a game jam submission. I wish I had the time to finish it.
It seemed like finding all the things on each section is optional. Is it? I recommend some kind of indicator of where the exit is once everything is found.
Once I died, I quit because I had to start all over, even go through the tutorial prompts and dialog. I wasn't expecting so much to play through.
I loved the double jump and ledge grabbing but I feel like the player should float a bit more and not immediately drop after the peak of the jump. There's probably a ton of tutorials on improving movement in platformers.
Otherwise, the execution was great. Lots of enemy types. Either it was a coincidence that I received health items when I was low on health, or health drops were rare. I had a good time.
Thanks! Sorry that you had to restart the tutorial. When you die you should have respawned in a “new” prison cell where you don’t have to go through any tutorial or had to run down a long hall. You also could buy permanent upgrades there. And then get back into action really quickly. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it!
Wow, you packed a lot of great things into this game: upgrades, teleport system, mini-map, etc. The dash was a little tricky for me on the keyboard - but that could be just my lack of coordination (my gamepad didn't seem to work). Nice work.
You might like to try our platformer game - Lumi and the Dark Night.
It was an enjoyable take on the theme of "Moonshot" with that very funny intro. Great work!
Reminded me of when I was playing Soldat online! The game feels great, the animations make the gameplay enjoyable, I also really liked the minimap on the left. Excellent idea of the tutorial to explain the various commands, well done! Compliments!
Felt really nice to play, and I cant believe the quality in such a short space of time.
"what is up with these guys?"
haha love the gameplay and the animations and everything.
i read other comments but it is running fine for me
good work
This was a really fun one! The visual effects for firing the gun (overcharged or regular) makes it really fun to use. Again, great job here!
Hey sorry! You should be able to pick up the gun from the table at the start of the game. There is a bug if you miss picking it up from the tutorial then it is gone. Someone else was experiencing something similar with the gun disappearing on them. Clearing the local storage will reset the game progress and should be able to go get the gun again.
Nice rogue-lite-like? game. Great sound and decent visuals. The controls are snappy but the double jump with the platforms being too high and forcing you up if you are close enough made navigation more difficult.
Overall cool game except maybe stretching the theme interpretation a bit?
