Game description
This isn't a whodunit. You already know who's done it. The important thing is... you cannot tell anyone.

Your name is Marin Knezevich and you're a student, returning home, when you see a murder take place. You know who's the murderer, you know who's the murdered. You just cannot tell anyone.

A visual novel, and my first game. Ended up being just a demo.

Theme interpretation
The theme is the central point to the story. At first I was going to go with a "two can keep a secret if one of them is dead" idea, but words "to the grave" kept echoing in my head. So I wanted to make a little spin on the classic whodunit type of story. You already know everything, but you must "take the secret to the grave".

The story is going to be a bit longer than the demo, but that phrase is central to the game's story.

Really impressive result for a first game! During the first playthrough we encountered very few bugs that in the end didn't really affected our experience.
We truly enjoyed the art style of the game: can't wait to see the final game!

Developer

thank you so much!

whoop, ive heard from other people who've played that there are some bugs, but i'm waiting for the voting period to end to fix them! ^^ glad it didnt affect the gameplay though!

I really enjoyed your writing style, along with the art & photos it created a strong atmosphere! I liked the flickery image effect too! (reminded me of hotel dusk if you've ever played that!)

It would be nice to have a fast forwards button to skip through dialogue when replaying for different choices!

Developer

thank you so much! ive never played hotel dusk, but looking it up now, ive heard of it! i might give it a play! c:

also gotcha, i'll try to implement that along with autosave once the voting period is over~ 👀

The mixed use of 3D2D and photos is eye-catching. I like the forest I saw in my dream

Developer

thank you! :D

Extremely viby game. Visual novels aren't usually my thing but this one had a great atmosphere, and I really think you should continue with it after the jam!

The mixed-media aspect of the art design is also really cool. Makes it feel like I'm playing through a crumpled scrap book or a zine that I found faded in the woods. Also the writing is extremely well done and very wryly humourous at times.

Great job on your first game and congratulations on your first game jam!!!

thank you so much! :'D i definitely plan to continue it! ^u^ taking a break for now just to clear my head, but it was a super fun experience.

i adore zines, i still make a lot of them, so its so cool to hear that it transcribes to my game too! :D

Heads up for anyone who downloads this you need both the exe and pck and they need to be in the same folder,

Really appealing aesthetic visual novel and a cool premise like I'm being talked to by the devil or something. I love the twisting shapes contrasting with the colorful character portraits. The whole thing has a real strong vibe and really good energy. The writing is a lot of fun, very over the top and bombastic. I'm excited to know what happened and who the narrator is. It also has a pretty insane number of paths for a visual novel made in this time frame which I appreciate, most push you on to one this one seems to branch and reconnect a lot. The music is pleasant as is the sound effects. This is a fun start to a game. I wouldn't mind an autosave feature though.

Developer

woah, thank you so so much for such a wonderful comment! it made me gush so much i couldnt reply right away, it really made my day! 😅

the music is just a placeholder for now (i have a friend who would love to make soundtrack!) and i hear you about the autosave! i'll def add it after the voting period :D
