It's quite hard to figure out how to play with only your short description. I think I didn't fully get it...
I think it would be very helpful if you could see the abillities of the figures (e.g. can only move forward) when they are standing on the battlefield. Additionally I didn't got the resource mechanic. Maybe a nice start for something cool.
I could tell there was something interesting going on/that the idea was interesting, but I had no idea how to play it. I summarized it as "You play cards and advance on the battlefield and try to corner your opponents and take them out"; kind of like Chess with stat cards and extra moves. I tried playing but wasn't sure exactly what to do and then one of the cards ended up getting stuck on the screen and I couldn't do anything except end my turn.
I'd like to see this idea more fleshed out, polished, and explained as I think it could be pretty cool.
Neat board game idea
An interesting and fun mix of a card and a board game. The core gameplay made me think a little bit of the battles in Etherlords, which I used to play when I was a kid. I also liked the little details, like the animation of the End Turn button, or the animation of a card being played. I wish it was a bit easier to tell which team units are on, especially the round ones :)
Unfortunately, I tried a few games and I wasn't able to finish any of them. Here's the error I saw in the console:
Overall, I'm impressed by the mechanics and the variety of cards. Well done!
I lost.
I agree with TempestDahlia about some in-game tuts, I didn't really get how to play :)
But overall, it's an interesting mix of board and card games. Many possibilities there.
It'd also be cool to add some audio to the game, calm, peaceful background music that helps you think
And plz rotate that opponent's counter so one can read it :)
Wish there were some more in game tutorials. I just don't know what I'm even doing
Wow nice work getting such a complex game done! It is like chess + magic the gathering. I am impressed with how many different unit types and powers you got in there. I hope you polish it up post jam :)
