Nice for a simple Metroidvainia style game.

I found the movement was a little inconsistent and I got stuck on the wall at one stage.

It would also be nice to have some little hint as to which coins are cursed, otherwise I'm just collecting all of them hoping I don't die.

There was also little indication I need to return to the beginning

I get the point with the movement I try to work on it.

The thing with the coins is on purpose, for me it is better fitting with the theme, like you know it better after, if it was worth or not.

And that you should run back ist written on the door at the beginning of the level :) I should have written it again at the end of the level, you are right.

When I picked up the gem for the first time and saw the lava I immediately hit shift to try and run. I also hit control the first time an enemy shot at me. Crouch and Run would be awesome. I understand the no running when you get the gem as it looks to slow you down.

I also couldn't find a way up before the lava hit me and then passed by. It doesn't seem like the whole thing causes damage, so I survived until it passed me by.

I really liked the sound effects. The one where he said oops made me chuckle.

Yeah I had no time to implement it :( I did the same thing  while testing. The coins have a chance to slow you down, after you pick up the gem, the curse (slowness) gets multiplied.

The Lava was a big problem, I couldn't get it to hurt all the way... And if i drew the lava for the whole level with no composite tiles, there were serious performance problems!

I thought the firing mechanics were fine, I had more an issue with the jumping while running (er, walking).

I especially love the idea that the more gold you carry the slower you get (gold is heavy, after all!). What I quite didn't get, is this something that is caused by the cursed coins only, or are the cursed coins just hurting your health?

The curse would be the slowing and the hurting :) it's a big chance to just slow you, a small chance that nothing happens and an even smaller chance that they also hurt.

This isn't loading for me, either. It's getting stuck at like 90%. I had this same issue while uploading from Unity. I solved this issue by disabling compression in the project settings. I used this forum post to help me through it: unity forums

It works for me now! Did that fix it??

I got through the first level but died to enemies on the second level. The firing just feels a little strange to use. Good job on finishing this. I love the player animation. I never thought I'd be playing as Shakespeare and throwing skulls, but here I am. :)

I know the firing is strange, but intended :D I wanted it to ark and have a long reset time, that you carefully shoot.
