I love that you based it off john wick. I don't see any comments mentioning it so is that intentional? Fun game. Controls feel a bit weird. I think its because saint wick rotates from behind instead of the center and movement is sharp and instant. Well done.

Developer(+1)

Haha! Thanks for playing and yes it was intentional!

With it being my first game jam and being so new to development I knew it wouldn’t be anything special game play wise so I figured I’d be a little tongue-in-cheek about the story. :)

I’ll be updating the game a bit after the jam. Will put your feedback on my to-do list! Thanks!

Frenzy game with the right music! Sadly no indication, if i got hit. It was pretty suprinsing as I died, because I couldn't see my life. Was it offscreen or wasn't there any health UI?

Well I had fun! And if you have the time, can you play my game? I know there isn't a lot of time anymore, but i would be happy :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! There’s not any UI for health at the moment, unfortunately. I will be updating the game after the jam ends to include these!

Played and rated yours! :)

This was really fun, you did a great job! Good variety of enemies and good mechanics, I think the only issue I had was that my screen wasn't big enough, I tried to maximize the window but some of the buttons were cut off a little around the edge. Not a big deal, I was still able to get my revenge! lol

Developer

Thanks for playing!

What you mention about the screen being cut off is strange! I’ll look further into it and see if there is something I can update to help the game scale better once the jam is over!

I’m sure it’s just some tweaking in the project settings or the itch.io settings, I just mess with numbers in my own projects and hope for the best hehe

Developer

That’s what I was thinking too! Will definitely have to play around with it.

Congrats on the submission - I can't believe you've only been doing game dev for 3 weeks!

Fun and frantic game with simple mechanics and a cool theme. I almost broke my mouse button 🤣

I think you could elevate this even further with some extra feedback effects when hitting or defeating an enemy. That would take it to the next level!! Good work and keep making games!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback Onnox!

Once the game jam officially ends I will definitely be adding some more enemy and player feedback! Also a ‘hold to shoot’ option LOL

It's fun and I liked the story. The game lacked game feel, it could've been more satisfying to go through the waves if when you killed an enemy and blood particles splattered all over the floor or something similar. Here's a good video on how gamefeel is done:

Also the menu for new wave breaks me out of the experience.
I understand you are just at the start of your development journey but these are some things to consider in the future. Other than that, great work, keep it up! :)

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback, K3yman!

I will definitely be taking more time in my next jam to organize my thoughts on the front end, rather than through the development process! I chased a lot of rabbits that led me to wasting time on silly things that didn’t matter in the long run.

Thanks again! I appreciate it! <3

Using organization tools like Trello really helped me to stick to a plan. So I highly recommend creating a plan of features and all that goes into a game and complete a game in small steps at least that worked well for me.

It was fun great job. the first chat was out of focus for me playing with windows on chrome.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback, Nima!

I think that’s just the game and not an issue on your end. I made the text message boxes in Photoshop and I don’t think I sized them correctly in the PSB file. I’d have to dig more into it but that’s my best guess. Definitely will consider that next time!
