First of all, I like the athmosphere generated by the audio! caught me immediately. you have chosen very very good sound samples here. I personally do not like pixelart in any way and this game was even more pixelated than many pixelgames i have seen - i had the impression the entire graphics would fit into a 128x128 desktop icon on windows, so the entire visual experience is not for me. the game itself is interesting (as soon as i was able to figure out that those moving pixels shall show kind of a cursor), but the graphical presentation totally ruined it for me. sorry, you asked for honest feedback, that’s what i felt. but i really loved the acoustic athmos!
Nice music and art but for me the gameplay was a bit confusing.
Such an interesting concept. Nicely achieves a coherent theme with every detail. Sounds and music are nicely curated and sucks you in gameplay. Story is very absorbing.
Nice game! The music, sfx and art go really well together and create a really eerie atmosphere. I think it would be better if you could always see how many chances you have left. I couldn't seem to figure out how to interact with anything except the TV. I tried staring at the furniture till the TV screen blinked, but the screen didn’t flash black. The TV part was fun though.
A hint from me: you can hear a weird sound when the TV flashes black or a slashing sound when the TV flashes yellow :)
I tried playing the game one more time with your hint in mind and I actually managed to complete it this time round. The story was really cool. I think the game restarted a bit abruptly after the end though.
I'm glad to hear that! And yeah, the game will restart after the end [I can't make the reset feature after all the crazy things that almost made the project jump into failure, that's why I just restart the game xD].
As said, great aestetics, but it felt there was just 'make sure you watch the screen when light goes green'. This felt limited. However, the game does feel solid. Much more than mine :D
Great easthetics and graphics but I was confused about the gameplay and what to do, but spooky vibe :)
It doesn't get past the screen with the text for me. Sounds are still playing but nothing happens.
EDIT: Finally found out you just have to press Z.
The atmosphere of the game is great, but what you are meant to do is a big question mark. I don't know if there are any hints in the game, but all I seem to be doing is move my cursor around, hoping something would happen. And when something does happen, I have no idea why it happened. The time between the TV interactions feels very short too. It would be nice if you were rewarded by hitting the TV minigame in one go by having more time before the TV activates again.
I managed to get the first activation (Spoiler: Guy coming through the mirror) but after that I only managed to get a single "black flash" interaction on the left closet door but never got to trigger it again. Which is a shame because the game looks great and I would have loved to get further through it.
Congrats on submitting to the jam anyway though !
Thanks for playing and informing me!
I finally found a bug that makes you get interaction on the left closet door.
Really good game with great graphics but the gameplay is a little confusing
Really good game with good graphics
I've figured out how to help the player in a subtle way, but I don't know what other players think (who already got the "ending"). Is it going to hurt you guys? I mean, you've solved the puzzle, and that's your reward. However, I do want others to finish the game :')
The art for the game was so violent which I thought was really impressive being able to convey what's going on in pixel art. Very cool!
This was great with my headphones pumped up!
The atompshphere is amazing, but I don't know how to play it, what I do is just watch TV and play the little game.
Getting all the endings was really fun. The art is also really good. Amazing work
Amazing atmosphere, both visuals and sound were amazing.
Mechanics left me confused at first, and i'm almost certain my "ending" was a bad end, but didn't want to repeat again without being sure
Pretty cool art! simple game but lacks of instruction on what to do. Z key is also feel weird for interaction but still ok I think. After playing the game for some time, I still don't know what is the "slashing" soundtrack purpose, and I also dont know how to lose. I think it will be better if you give information in the HUD more. overall already pretty good!
I liked the game a lot!
First, it is something that happened to me a lot when i was little, always playing late (zombie games) and start to imagine them knocking at my door and things like that, and this is it hahaha.
Second, the end got me so anxious HAHAH, i was just jumping off my chair, i really enjoyed it!
Third, commented this on the game page, srry, wanted to do it here haha.
The ambience here is incredible. What an amazing style all around. The music/sfx fit perfectly, the color palette is so dreary and the art is gorgeous. I love this room you've built and the tone is just perfection. That this was also made by just one person is insane. You are so crazy talented. Even the game's title font is so cool. Just wow.
Great submission! Id say you may need some more visual clues such as mouse hover over pop-ups as well as more things to get people going at the start to figure out how to play. My other suggestion would be that the Z key isn't too intuitive as a keyboard game player. Either sticking that in the UI somewhere or changing it to a more normal E or F would be the way to go.
At first, I want to add an outline when the pointer hovers over the object. But I just think it will be too easy for the player to solve the mystery. Yeah, I've got to find another way to tell the player which object they should be staring at.
And you should use the arrow key to move the pointer, I forgot to disable WASD movement xD
Good soundtrack, very stylized graphic style, transmits depressive mood, recommended
Thanks!
