Good looking pixel art snake game otherwise looking quite basic and simple on the surface. But that cannot be far from the true. Puzzle are fun and sometimes mind-boggling. Present scoring system also keeps motivation high for finding even more efficient solution for each level. Simple, yet creative and original arcadey puzzle game. One thing, that could be improved though, are cutscenes which currently bring nothing to the table.

Thank you :)

I like that you deem the puzzles fun and mind-boggling and that the game invites you to improving the score. I get it as a mark of good design.

Cutscenes will definitely be worked on, I hope I will get other/better ways to introduce story to the game. I don’t think that this is an arcade game that should have no cutscenes and no story.

A very fun and unique game!! I managed to get into day 13 I think? Not sure if there's an ending.

The graphics are awesome, and it's super impressive you did this in PICO-8! I always wondered if any gamedev uses this besides the devs behind the original Celeste, super cool.

Sounds and graphics are super clean, the gameplay very easily understandable + just enough challenging! And the learning/tutorial phase is expertly done!

Only thing I'd critisize are the cutscenes. they are far too long and the dialogue takes ages. First time playing, I skipped the cutscene, thinking the snake is just going to endlessly go left and right endlessly. This could be improved.

The ingrediences I didn't really see that well utilized, but maybe they are more towards the ending? Idk.

All in all, great job with the game !!!!

Hello, thank you for your kind words :)

All levels are passable and there is an ending - there are 15 levels total.

Cutscenes are long and I felt it too when developing the game during jam (it took lot of time, probably 7-8 hours, to make sane cutscene system and design the cutscenes). In today’s update, I shortened first cutscene slightly. Perhaps I could devise better way to introduce the story (it actually contains prophecy and festival that is hinted by masks and disguises). This one thing I definitely have to take to design whiteboard and give it more thought.

Let’s see what will arise during weeks to follow.
