What was the most challenging part of making your entry?
getting all the menus to work properly
What was the most fun part?
making the logic for the game
Anything else to add? (important controls, assets used, special mentions, etc)
made a webgl version of the game now as well its the exact same version as the game jam vesion
you can use the wasd keys to move around the map as well as the mouse at the edge of the screen. mouse scroll wheel zooms in and out and + and - on the num pad does the same
all your excess fuel will be automatically sold to market so you can get away with having no storage but you can make more money if you sell it your self when the prices are high.

interesting set up and fun to play around in. Definitely needs a better tutorial setup as the game is fairly complex. Amazing that you got this done in time. Great job on that.
Thanks for playing the game. Yeah I was sadly rushed to make what I even have in the game for a so called tutorial as is.
It is hard to understand what you have to do in the game so i think a tutorial is needed. There is too much info in the how to play which is hard to get all at once.
thanks for the feedback I am going to add a proper tutorial into a later version of the game what I had in there as the best I could do in the time I had probably made a game way to big in scope sigh.

Really solid game! Congrats on getting all this together. Music was a perfect background for running an oil tycoon! I agree a tutorial could help, but I was able to figure everything out - which I think says a lot about the design (good things!). Layout is also super cool - very nostalgic - and I appreciated fine details like changing music, speeding up time, etc. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed the game I had a lot of fun making the art and coding it. With this game I learned a lot and I might be close to being able to make a rts game like command and conquer some day
I love city builder type stuff. Especially if it has lots of figures and financial management like this one. The tutorial is a tricky thing to get right, as players tend to skip over walls of text. You should maybe look at other games in the genre and look at the icons and pop-ups that they use to communicate what's needed or in what order (City skylines spring to mind). I can appreciate the amount of design that went into this jam game so well done. I'll be honest and say that I did not play for very long (as it is very late already where I am), but enjoyed my time with it none-the-less. Will jump into this again tomorrow to give it a more thorough play through
yeah and that is all i got is a text with some images in the how to play part kinda rushed that in. I'll have to figure something out I have already fixed some stuff and added in stuff that I got feedback from to the game just waiting for the rating time to end before I upload the changed game. I even got the stupid image to follow the mouse around which I am not sure why I was really having issues with it last week all well.
i never found a way to implement city builder, and i think you found a good and easy way to implement it. congrats for this :) for improvement, you should put a tutorial for people who don't much about this game genre.
thanks. not sure how to make said tutorial at the moment guess I could just make a video and add a player in the game that would be the easy way or code in stuff that flashes on icons and displays what to do on the screen hmmm wonder how hard that would be to make.
i forget to tell you also , it 's great you give a lot of money at start so we can build a lot. i tried another game city builder and you had no money at start, it was so long to get money that most players will give up. you did well on this game.
Unfortunately the game crashed on me with no message before I could win, but I still had a blast! My one recommendation would be to show which material is which on the bottom selling area, I eventually figured it out, but I had regular gas and aviation fuel mixed up for most of the game.
Well done!
Thanks, Wonder why it crashed though.
As for the fuel types on the selling bar I did want to add a hover over and display it but I never did get to before the jam ended sadly. I'll add something to display that in the after game jam version
This was fun! I always knew I would make a great oil man :D There was something very satisfying about placing loads of buildings and just watching the numbers go up :D I couldn't tell if there was any end condition for the game, but I had a fairly dominany lead on the leaderboard so I was happy :) Great work!
I never did add a end to the game I should have at least put in a you are the top dog or something being displayed when you get to the top 1 spot, but all well something to add later on
But thanks for playing the game and glad you enjoyed it.
Really nice! I will say: it was a bit difficult to see where each oil tile was, but it was fine for a jam. Great work!
I guess I shouldn't have changed that title I had it larger before the finished version
nice game! it took a bit of time for me to understand what i need to do, but then it became very fun to see getting money:)
glad you enjoyed it, I guess i need to figure out how to make it easier to understand what you need to do I did make the how to play part in a rush near the end might have been better just making a video and slapping that in there hm,
city builder are difficult game genre. Great idea , and cool that you made it a game.
yeah not sure what compelled me to make it for the game jam, was a idea I had floating around for a bit and the game jam was my excuse to make it surprised I got that amount I did get done in a week though
