Really impressive for a weeks time. I would second what Carlos Rodriguez stated. lots of potential here.

Alright, so I have some feedback, hope you like it :)

Cool things:

  • The game is FUN, it has potential, although I know it has almost the same concept as GTA, still it got me entertained 100% of the time.
  • The feeling of shooting and killing people (oh don't get me wrong, virtual people! XD) was nice, you nailed it.
  • Car physics is just great, I wouldn't modify it. Same for the player. I wouldn't modify any physics at all.
  • I'm impressed you did this in 1 week, I can only imagine what you can do in more time.

Cool things but areas of opportunity:

  • The game would be better with better UI images, transitions, etc.
  • Graphics are good but they can be better.
  • The audio is good but I guess different tracks could fit better for this kind of game.

I'm going to subscribe to your channel in case you upload a new version of this game. Congrats! You just sent me back to the old good times playing GTA 1 on my rusty PC.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback.  This is my 4th GTA-2 like (I really love the genre) and i'm starting to get better at it (I feel anyway).  This did help me for this jam as I could re-use a lot of code from previous attempts and just modify it for this.  The car physics has been a pain for me and I think this 2.5d approach feels much better than my previous attempts.  I also learned a bunch of new stuff for this Jam (shaders, 2D lights, blend trees etc).  Most of this title (first 4 days of the jam) were actually written from a hospital bed (minor op) so I had a LOT of free time for this. I agree with all the points raised and REALLY appreciate the feedback.

This was fun. The car control felt nice and shooting felt pretty smooth! I obviously like the sneaky Scoot Kaboom in there too :D Nice work!

like the tutorial you put in the main menu.

plan on working on the game more after the jam?

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play. I will continue with it in some form. Maybe add some narrative and a more mission based approach rather than arcady shooter with a score system. Reseptions been kinda slow so hoping a few more peeps try it out.
