Are SFX's classified as a tool or asset?

Can I use old licenses or do I have to make new ones?

SFX are assets and should be made during the game jam. Take a look around on the "looking for team" thread! There are loads and loads of composers and sound artists looking for teams this year.

Thanks for the reply!

Guess I'll have to make some  new beeps and boops during the Jam.

Ahh well... All experience is good experience!

So I can't use the samples in my library? really fucking lame I was gonna make some tracks on my hardware sampler

Related question: would sound effects generated with BFXR and similar software count as "created during the jam"?

I'm pretty sure the idea is for all the assets in a game to be made within the timeframe of the game jam, as opposed to pre-made assets we might have lying around. I'm assuming that as long as the sounds or what have you are made during the jam, the tool doesn't really matter.

Yeah, I'm using SFXR for all my SFX.
