Interesting story, well made game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the GBJam 5 games, if you'd like to take a look :)

I did not quite enjoy the gameplay. There is not enough pressure from the enemies quickly enough. Other than that, this puzzly moving mechanic is really good and I could enjoy playing it for hours if there were a bit more variety

This is really great! The in-game graphics look very gameboy, and it was easy to get a handle on the mechanics quickly. Could definitely see trying to get better at this and enjoying the challenge. I did accidentally destroy a health potion one time when I needed it, which was unfortunate, but I don't know what else you could do from a UI perspective with so few buttons available... maybe use the "start" button for something so final or a confirmation pop-up? Anyway, that was just a minor thing.

Congrats to your team on a fantastic jam game!

Hey Sean, thank you! The day indicator in the UI decreases each time you go back to the village, and if it reaches 0 you die because of the curse. We wanted the villagers to give you quests and rewards, but we didn't have time. So the only thing you can do at the village is to talk to villagers and recover HP by walking. We also wanted to add a boss (the evil thing that is cursing villagers and travellers like you) after descending certain number of floors, and win the game if you defeat it, but didn't make it in time either. And of course, more items, weapons (ranged, wide, bombs...) and enemies with different behaviours and attack types. We may update it in the future if people like the game :)

Thank you all for all your words and for playing, even if you didn't leave a comment! :)

This is incredibly good. Thanks for making it.

Very cool little roguelike! There wasn't really enough variety to keep me playing for too long though; furthest I got was room 14. As near as I could tell, there didn't seem to be any point to the "30 days" in the UI. Was that a planned feature that didn't make it in?

btw, the fullscreen button doesn't seem to actually make the game bigger, it just puts it in the upper-left corner of a blank screen.

Yay! Really well done. The game is solid, the GB feel is incredible. I made it to room 13 (although I'm not sure this is good or bad, I'm not the best roguelike player). I'd love to have some sort of ranged attack, I think this could easily increase the strategic aspects of the game. Oh! And I loved the intro :D

Congratulations!

Interresting. It's a solid base of a game ^^. I would have liked more monster types than just basic melee, to create a wider variety of situations. Also, I find frustrating the fact that most of the time you can not deal the first blow to the ennemy. I would have liked the option to skip a turn for instance.

Great job anyway =). keep it up.

Great music and art. The intro is GB AAA-like. Very good job.

Also you don't see a REAL roguelike these days and it's kinda refreshing to find one :D
