Not sure if it was me but i didn't seem to have audio in the game. Would have been nice to have maybe a level or stage counter to track how far along you where instead of time. Giving you a better sensation of completing goals after sweeping a few guys.
Graphics overall where very gameboy like and the game felt like it could have been on the system. Nice concept!
Yeah, it's entirely my fault. i didn't start the project in time. i even idiotically worked on creating a different movement system for AI instead of tile based movement. i didn't even notice that my audio is not running because i wasn't wearing my headphones.
i sure have things to update when the Game Jam is over TEE HEE
Nice animations but gameplay looks unfinished. I think also that controls utilizes too much buttons.
um...i didn't get the meaning of "controls utilizes too much buttons". There are just 2 buttons, R and Space.
WASD moves and pressing arrow keys rotates soldier - that's 8 buttons (like in twinstick games).
Nah, dude.
Just WASD
Space and R
4 plus 2 buttons.
Very nice graphics, would be nice to see a spinoff of this game with gameplay style more of "an old pc game : "chaos engine"
Chaos Engine, got it. Noted.
Though minus the mutants.
This games graphics are insanely impressive! Well done!! It's just a shame the gameplay is a bit weird
he he he, thanks for trying it out.
R and Space button scheme was chosen for specific reason.
R is easy to understand to doing reloading action.
Space is a big keyboard button so clicking it feels oddly satisfying.
The graphics/shader is good but the gameplay is not fun, and the those UI elements are taking out the gameboy feeling of the stages. Cool entry!
hey, thanks for trying it out
So as you all can see, the enemy AI is not very challenging. This is mainly because i tried a different tile movement system for the AI and therefore the AI has a difficulty in prioritizing the attack on Player over moving to the next tile.
i will create a better, competent AI after the Game Jam is over.
This game really shines in the aesthetic department. Reminds me a lot to the port of Max Payne for GBA.
Is it just me or the game doesn't have audio?
Wow, thanks for a dose of that awesome comment!
And...um yeah, the game doesn't have audio. i had been testing without my headphones and i was too late to realize that the build has no audio.
Really fun to play. But this game shines in the visual aesthetic, it nails that look some heavier games had when they made the port to the gb back in the day.
God! The way you put it, really made my day!
The visuals are very striking. It doesn't really fit the style of Game Boy, but still good none the less!
Hey, so nice of you to check it out!
