Good palette choice + art direction
Great game! Simple, smooth, and works surprisingly well with the low resolution requirement of the jam.
Lots of cool details to create this scary atmosphere, and 3D works really well in this small resolution, which makes the area fun (and scary) to explore, well done !
Thanks for your review! I hope you got spooked good! :P
Really cool concept and game. I like this kind of lowrez horror games, for some reason they feel more spooky than a realistic one. I liked that the field of view was really limited and the turn speed was slow, it adds more tension to the game. The hangman canvas was also a nice 'sign' of what was going to happen.
I'd like to see a post jam version of it, maybe with some puzzle mechanics or just a walking simulator with a bit more of story. Nice job!
Thank you, I really appreciate your review! I'm with you on the lowrez horror. I believe that the minimalistic nature of this kind of visual limitations forces your brain to fill more gaps thus making it more immersive and creepy.
So, I was totally immersed, getting lost inside the house, and at the same moment when one of the visions happen, my daughter started banging at the door. - Dad!!!! Lunch is ready!!!!!
I almost had a heart attack.
Good game.
Hahaha! Man I love to read that! Thanks for playing I really appreciate it!
Rated E for "Eeeeeeh! It's scary". The SFX are amazing, the art is simple but is enough to scare me, very cool concept.
This is really cool. It's very eerie even with the smaller amount of gameplay. I'm pretty sure many people would play this if you took it further beyond the game jam seeing as everything about this has an aspect that makes me want to play more and more. I would love to see more of this world if you wish to add more to this project. I would have no problem playing this game and any other project similar to it just to be immersed in the same terrifying yet beautiful environment. There is so much you could more you could do with this game and I can't wait to see where the story will go if you create more, or even the other plots that you have in store.
You're review is so amazing! Thank you! I'm really glad you like it! And yes, I'm thinking on expanding on this ideas in the future,. When I was working on this I was thinking that the fact that you're only allowed to see 4 colors is going to make your brain fill the missing info, thus making it more creepy, kind of like reading a horror story versus watching a horror movie, the reading is way scarier imo because your brain has to fill a lot, so it becomes more immersive.
Thanks again for the review! :D
Super neat concept. had a bit of difficulty's with the web version but played around with the exe.
I really liked the style overall. infect if you wanted to go beyond the jam I think you could have a really good horrer/thriller format going on for you.
Nice job
Thank you this means a lot to me! I'm planning to expand on this idea after the Jam since a few people said this is a good concept! I'm really looking forward to it. :)
it was very spooky but for some reason I think the walls just weren’t loading when I got into the house so I legitimately had no idea where I was or where I was going. everything else though was nice.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to find that bug, never happened to me before. Can you tell me what version of the game you were playing?
I was using the Mac version. I’m on mac os catalina.
Damn dude, didn't scare me at first until the upside down long thing ran across the hallway! The upside down cross thing always unsettles me too. You did a good job setting the atmosphere here even with the harsh limitations of the GameBoy.
The only thing I'd recommend is adjusting the controls so that it turns smoothly when you press a turn key, I think it was like waiting for the usual delay before repeating like it does when you type.
Overall though, spooky level 9/10.
Thank's man, I'm glad you like it! And thanks for the feedback I will consider changing the turn speed to see how it feels.
It looks really cool, sadly it runs poorly for my browser and keeps crashing. Love the 4 color shader.
Yes, I'm aware of that, and that's because of the shader, that's why I recommend in the description to download the game if your browser can't run it properly, I encourage you to give it a try man, it's a really short game and I'm sure you'll get spooked,
7zip won't let me open the .RAR file. Could you upload a .exe?
YES!
Horror in 3D combined with Gameboy aesthetic screams win for me.
On top of that, i don't need to download the game because you made it payable in the browser ... AWESOMNESS!
One thing i would want to ask is that, have you tried using Outline Shader in this setting? Did it ruin the look?
Thanks man! The Outline Shader is actually a very good idea.. I think I'll try it and see how it looks.
Well i tried it in my game, the resolution surely didn't help. i did use it to make some particles to get highlighted though. If you could get it to work then do share the secret Sauce with me!

I hate (love) it! The 4 colour shader works surprisingly well with the scary theme!
Glad you got scared! lol!!
This is a pretty clever idea (making a 3d game and using shaders to render it in 4 colors). It feels pretty good to play! It's also appropriately spooky. I didn't have any sound on the windows build, though- and in one of the rooms in the house I got stuck by the bed and couldn't proceed.
Hi there! Thanks for the feedback I uploaded a new version where you don't get stuck anymore, that was a glitch, and also I cranked the volume a little bit. Again, thank you very much!
