Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
I made pretty much everything during the jam, With the exception of a few sfx from freesound (creative commons) and the player sprite (which I designed in the days leading up to the jam)

Shame that you didn't playtest the browser version (I only play browser games in game jams). It looked cool and I'm sad that I didn't get a chance to start the game and play.

Developer

If you just press Z on the first option on the title screen, the game will start btw.

But yeah, it's totally on me for not playtesting the browser version.

Despite the errors, it's clear that this game has potential!
Graphics, music and sounds are cool  :)

Sorry about the errors! Good art and feel.

Note: Technically the cartoony font wasn't made by me (I found it on google fonts), but the game's primary pixel font was designed by me.

Developer

I just saw other people mention fonts, so I figured I'd say something here.

The game is REALLY short, but I know it's hard to make a game in such little time.

The art and music were great, hope you update it!

Thanks!

I figured out the controllers but you may write the controls in the description. Also, the only text was "error" for me like you mentioned but I think it wasn't bad :D I even thought it was a decision choice. If the game had glitchy effects as an aesthetic it would be cool.

Developer

Ah, I didn't think about it that way.

And yeah, I forgot to update the page on the game's controls, sorry about that!

Platforming feels very good and particle effects are great. It's a shame after the tutorial there is no actual levels. Music is also a very big plus. Even if you won't consider creating the full game, I think that just filling in a few levels to be able to jump around, shoot and dash (even without any big plot elements) could be a lot of fun. For the jam it is great.

For smoothness I'd also suggest making the slash animation faster (if not instant) as the fact that player character stops to attack feels a little clanky.

Thanks, Glad you enjoyed it!

Fairly fun movement! A shame about the text in the browser version. Had a good laugh though!
