Great concept for a memory game! Enjoyed it :) Thanks for making this and keep up the awesome job!
Quite nice mechanic with some polish it could really be a fun game.
Consider making the dropping zone more evident, as first time I tried to drop the item onto the television x)
Congrats for your submission !
I'm sorry you couldn't understand the game. In Buildom, you first have to see the ingredient(or material) on the TV at top right, and then you have to find that material in the panels in front of you,and have to drop that in the box(Bottom left) in the exact same order it showed on the TV.Each time you do it successfully,a building builds itself and can be seen through the window.Hopefully you understand the game a bit better now :)
Nice game :) I like memory games, so that was fun, and it was definitely a unique take on the theme.
Three smallish things I think you could do to make it easier to play:
1) Have a start button / wait for a second before displaying the first "ingredient" on the tv. I think that's why someone might not see it or notice it at first - if they don't notice it right away, and then it disappears, it might seem like the game hasn't actually started. (Otherwise, I think the speed between ingredient transitions is really good!)
2) Add a sound effect when an object is dropped into the chute. I was really confused at first why it was just disappearing (I thought it was being de-selected or something?). I figured it out pretty quickly, but a little audio confirmation would be a nice bonus :)
3) I think if you bring your image assets a little closer together, you could make the screen displaying the town bigger. That would make it feel more like you're succeeding / building something! A layout like this might allow for that:
(I hope it's not rude that I drew that; it is, of course, just a suggestion and by no means something you have to implement!)
Sorry for this long review ^^;; I really did like your game though and I think it's a nice start! Definitely a good jam entry.
Thanks for the review!
The 1) point was something that I had intended to fix but forgot at the very end.I was planning on adding a start button on the TV, so you can choose when to start.
The second point is something that would be really confusing if you didn't already know about it and I would have to fix that sometime after the jam so thanks for reminding me!
The 3) point is an also interesting idea, so I would be testing it after the jam too, to see if something good comes out of it.
All in all,Thanks for taking the time to play the game and write the review!
nothing shows up on the TV, i don't think i understand what i should do >.<
maybe add tutorial at the beginning to tell the player what to do :)
