Second best game that I've played! (obviously I am not counting our own game) Only two issues and that's it. One: It should be more clear when a house is good enough to continue, and the house should click together when this happens to show it perfect even if you got it slightly off, and two, the mouse doesn't work all that great in the menu, just there though. What a fantastic game, a future mobile classic. The second best game of the jam!

Physics and Graphics are awesome, the menu at the beginning was incredible, but there was some lag, but nice done!:)
This game is easy to play, easy to understand, the mechanics are simple, and the concept is both original and fun, also I like that you can see the highscores, my only complaint is that maybe it could be too simple but even then, it's still enjoyable, so I think that's a minor issue.
Hope to see this project on top.
Also I love the graphics, very unique.
Addictive game. Feels like Elastomania but with building theme. Great game. I would say: do some small bug fixes and publish it everywhere!
Thanks for playing!
We've already fixed bunch of stuff in development builds and have upcoming features coming, including a Building Editor.
Title screen feels like does not fit on the game, and I mean this because everything else suits and it's well polished: gameplay, art, smoothness, background, fun...
A great entry!
This game deserves all 5 star . Really really awesome game.
Really nice game. Kinda chill with rebuilding which is a nice thing for me. Has a really good graphic. Maybe change the music to little bit more chill and fun and it'll be all good.
OMG, I actually really like this game, the graphics are sweet, the audio is good, and its just genuinley fun, very good job, Ima come back later and try to get on leaderboard..
I had a lot of fun playing this game! My only problem was that it was a bit zoomed out, so maybe in the future you could add an option to zoom in and out.
Did you play in the browser window? Our game is aimed to be played in fullscreen. I've tested the game on 2560x1440 screen all the time and if the game is fullscreen I don't have any problem targeting or placing the bricks.
But like you said, you have problem targeting because the bricks seem small, and you're not the only one. The way we could address this problem is to make first city from larger bricks and gradually make houses from smaller bricks. This way you'll be acclimated to the game mechanics when the difficulty level is where we want it.
Lots of stuff already done and planned to do afterwards.
From our Devlog post.

Fixes (will be released after GameJam)
- We've fixed global highscores not fully loading every time. They do now.
- Talking about highscores. All the profits have € behind them. As it should be.
- Music looping has been fixed for all platforms
- Sometimes some bricks will bonk themselves through the ground. That's fixed now.
- Move the difficulty settings from under the options menu to the contract at start.
Planned features
- More particles when stuff happens. Smoke etc.
- Foreground sprites like trees, animals, cars etc.
- More city sounds
- Controller support
- Better touch interface support, including on-screen keyboard
- More buildings for the earthquake to destroy and for you to rebuild.
- Building editor
- Pro difficulty. We didn't have the time to implement this before the deadline so we're trying to get the putting-the-pieces-in-place even more difficult.
How did you even finish this in 10 days!!! This is so great! Loved it, it's fun and the graphics are so great. I liked how the main menu has the bricks fall and the concept of the game! I don't think there is something to improve about this game lol.
It was a buttload of work tbh.
As we're both unemployed atm, we had some excess time in our hands , as well as enthusiasm to create something of our own.
But there are improvements already at works for the game.
Level editor, multiple cities to rebuild, more variety to the blocks, more effects, sounds, graphics in general.
All sorts of fun stuff are to be added once the game jam is over. <3
Thanks for the graphics praise <3
On the graphics side. I have basic tileset in Photoshop and I made a script that saves all said bricks with current settings to a folder. All I needed to do was change color or wall type (brick, horizontal panels, etc) and run the script and wait about 30 seconds and I get all the bricks I need with that color and wall type. We even had to ditch one wall type because we went over the itch.io file limit with over 1300 files. The game currently has 840 brick sprites and 26 mortar files.
The crane and bulldozer are both drawn in illustrator and brought into Photoshop to make the actual sprites.
I used to work in a newspaper as a photo journalist, photo editor and graphics artist for 19 years. so my workflow has evolved to be pretty fast with familiar programs.
In like this game you did some things that I'm not exactly sure how you did them.
I like the idea of it mattering what order you pick up the pieces in, i thought some levels were tedious, and sometimes i would try to get one piece and it would get another.
It made it pretty lax how forgiving the placement could be and i liked the art and SFX. glad i played this one for sure.
We're glad you liked our game!
I'd love to explain how I did stuff, just ask away and you shall receive <3
For the piece pickup I do a raycasting from bottom of the grabber and when it hits a piece it is identified by it's variable ID.
The raycasting activates when it enters or exits the first piece (or group of pieces).
So to be able to pick up a correct piece from a pile you'd have to position the grabber inside the piece to be picked up.
Try to play some harder difficulties as well as you can change the difficulty in options menu.
