Unbelievably cute hand drawn graphics, hilarious voices and audio, loved the aesthetic and animation! It's a sweet little platformer and I look forward to whatever you do next, thanks for sharing it in the jam!

And if you get a chance to check out my game Foxy Boom Boxy, I would love any feedback you have, thanks!

Pony Princess is probably the most charming platformer character I've ever seen in a jam game. I'm not sure what's going on with her arm (leg?) when she runs, but the animation has a ton of character all the same. Gameplay-wise I feel as though it's not quite there - I wasn't sure how I was supposed to anticipate opponents' moves, if that's even a reasonable expectation - though the basic concept of getting into "honour-offs" when you hit a creature is delightful. It's also a novel take on the theme for this particular jam. (The voice acting was also a highlight.)

Thank you for the kind words I will make sure to share them with my assistants who helped with the animation and sound effects.

As for the novel take that's actually due to my accent and the way talk to text interprets me.... we just ran with it 😆

This was such a charming game! I loved the voices and sound effects. I didn't really understand the rock-paper-scissors mechanic and just button-mashed whenever I was in an Honor Off, but if Honor Offs had music where you had to time the rock-paper-scissors to the beat, that could make it a lot more engaging! The art was also super cute. I hope to see more of Pony Princess in the future!

Developer

thank you

We had intended on a small bit of music but I had too many issues trying to figure out syncing the music to a variable unfortunately. Hopefully in the future my skills will keep up with the plans.

You've got a nice little game, but the purple panel at the beginning can be quite bothersome, making it hard to see our character. Furthermore, there's room for improvement in the UI design and sound effects. Nonetheless, you're off to a good start!

thank you, I will share the feedback with my main assistant and see what we can come up with as a solution for a later release.

"I'm a pink slime!" / "I'm a green slime" are downright hilarious, and got you some bonus points in my book. That being said, hearing "Yoohoo!" every time I jumped was utterly annoying lol. I like the weirdness of it, but I didn't see(or understand) the objective. It was kind of a platformer, but then I had rock-paper-scissors battle(which is cool, but I was so lost during the battle I just pressed randomly and honestly it didn't seem to even matter what I did). Can you move past the invisible wall in the town area?

Love the concept, I'd clean it up a tad. Could be a real winner!

Developer

thanks, I warned my daughter the wahoo might be a bit much on all the jumps but she enjoyed it too much to cut.

There is an issue we found too late that causes the dance fights to not let you know you won or lost the fight, it happens but for like 1 frame before going back to the main scene. The feedback needs work.

Not sure about an invisible wall tbh, I did put a wall in at the back end of "town" and at the "front" just to limit the area, but it should be visible.

thanks for the review and suggestions!

Aww, I have a little girl too so I know what you mean! Their happiness definitely trumps any kind of gameplay issues!
