Awesome work! <3
Thank you, Exile!
A fantastically clean game given the time constraint and resources. The kind of game that I would expect to easily garner a cult following if taken further.
The difficulty ramp from the first room to the last felt just perfect given my lack of experience with this genre of games. I was especially a fan of the design in the last room in which I unfortunately found myself scrambling with the pressure of what lurked beyond the door.
The more complex the puzzles got, the more oppressive game felt as my mind was being distracted from the real danger. This design choice feels so simple but the execution is very well done. I can't wait to see where this game goes.
I am not a fan of horror. But I am a fan of Shroud of Gloom.
Thank you so much!
Really cool game. Love everything about it.
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Very cool experience. I really liked how the point and click with the flashlight on really gave an impression of needing to quietly cover space in each room and only having one hand to mess with items because your other hand is holding tight to the flashlight.
I made it to the 4th room, though room 3 had some unnecessary jank to it (why so many independent steps to get the key? It took me a long time to click the bucket in exactly the right spot too). Unfortunately I couldn't figure out the code and had to just give up. The tenseness of the flashlight mechanic did not go well with needing to trial and error to figure out which of the clues mattered to the lockbox. I only complain because I really did want to finish it so good job on the fun aspect. The art style was very clear and evocative. And the sound did it's job so well. I could tell when the monster was coming in a subtle (but still clear) way. That's impressive to me.
Yeah I see where you're coming from, I wanted to add extra steps to make sure it didn't feel like a 'Find Waldo' game and to have somewhat of a difficulty curve, but I might've pushed it too far in some places. Some hitboxes can definitely be improved, I think I might make a system that highlights objects when you hover over them or something to give clearer feedback on whether or not you're at the 'right spot'. Thank you very much for the feedback, and thanks for giving it a try!
Gotta say, the instincts to turn off my flashlight right after triggering the Jack in the Box was spot on. I felt a little confidence boost in my ability to survive after that.
Haha sweet! Thanks for giving it a go!
This was an awesome game to play. I enjoyed it, my friends enjoyed it. I had a slight problem with audio (i didnt hear the slowgre step) but maybe that was just my setup. I played in browser
Thank you, I'm glad to hear that! The audio mixing in the browser version can be a little bit weird, I haven't been able to find a reason why yet, but it's much better in the standalone version
The game is really good. the atmosphere is fitting. the timing works well with the story and the actions are very straight forward. Its a simple game with a clear objective.
Thank you so much!
