It's a cool concept! I'm reading here this was mostly to practice 3D modeling in Blender so I won't be too critical on the gameplay, but to further its potential I would say that some work on the character movement would greatly improve it, so that could be next steps towards your dev journey?
I clipped through a mountain and fell, but then I found the knife I left behind on my second run, 10/10
In my opinion a collect-o-thon game needs at least one thing extra to keep it form feeling like a chore list. On extra mechanic would have helped this game feel a little more engaging. The level itself was interesting and had some unique layouts and locations that were worth walking to see. For your next game I think something that would really help is to try a very small idea executed fully if that makes sense.
I liked the overall game and level design. I think you captured the "collect X to continue" kind of gameplay well.
I initially took the "there are no boundaries" as a challenge and fell off the world by trying to climb a steep mountain XD but I was able to restart and collect everything to beat the game. I think the ability to rotate the camera would have been a nice quality-of-life feature, but the game was playable as is, just made me do a little more exploration and check out all of the paths.
Thanks, yeah I didn't plan as well as I should have and didn't have time to put in the barriers or those nice simple QoL features. This was mostly just a simple project so I could learn and practice with making models in Blender.
was pretty cool some of the items took me a bit to figure out what things to use them on. liked the art had a fun look
Thanks, it was my first time making Blender models so they're still a bit rough lol. Other than that I just used the standard Unity terrain painting materials.
The map looks really nice! Interested to see where you take this - what kind of game play are you planning?
I didn't have plans to do much else with this one but it was something I hadn't tried before. I chose this because it was simple and gave me a lot of time to learn how to make models in Blender.
Nice level design
Its a bit hard to see where your heading while moving downwards on the screen as most of the map is on top.
Thanks, and yeah I hadn't considered that but I'll try to keep that in mind for future projects.
