"Please stop playing."

I will not. Fantastic work here. I really wish I could have streamed this round, because I was laughing out loud throughout my playthrough.

Some great choices. I like that the button reacted the entire time my cursor was touching it, not just an initial shake. the smiley face goes a long way to add character to the "player character." The twists and humor were top notch.

One small suggestion, is that you should have created the particles that happened upon click on a layer between the cursor and the button. Most of the time it wasn't noticeable because you'd delete the button object at the same time as generating the particles, giving the illusion that it broke apart, but for bits like where the player needs to click 10 times, it was a little odd for the particles to be appearing from behind the button.
Overall, excellent job. I really enjoyed this.

This was a really fun take on the challenge. That back to main menu click though... great game.

I started with the puzzles and once I developed that back to main menu click it was so much funnier instantly. I could have improved it even more... I should have made it slower the first time around and then it suddenly takes over the mouse, for comedic effect

Super cute little game! The levels were creative. The animation of going back to the start screen was very abrupt for me, maybe having a slower version (at least at the start). The background was a little bit busy for me, I personally think going with a solid color or some simple shapes to contribute to the minimalist style would have been at bit more effective. The UI effects were very nice and satisfying, so well done and good luck!

Developer

Yeah, good point on the abrupt back to the start screen effect. I did not have enough time to implement that properly.
It should be slow at the start and fast in the end.

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Love the smiley face on the cursor. The puzzles were really creative.

Developer

Thanks thanks, actually the smiley face was a placeholder, I was planning to give the cursor eyes and a mouth so he could talk to you and give you comments and hints about the puzzles or make jokes

As expected, this game was fantastic.  Lots of polish, and I loved the creativity and humor in having a game that's really meta about starting the game.  Excellent job!  I bet you'll be in the final!

Developer

Thanks for the kind words!

think I was 6 or 7 games in when I realized I was telling everyone "Oh yeah you'll be in the final for sure this is awesome" and had to stop saying it because I no longer know how to rank them haha.

Did you comment this before or after your discord comment? I'm so nervous about this round, haha

The problem I have is that I thought I had a solid top 5 picked out and then realized it was a top 6 or 7 that didn't include my own game so I have no idea how the voting is gonna go anymore.  This was genuinely a phenomenal entry and really smart use of the theme, and I hope you make it!  You've had incredibly creative games every round and you for sure deserve to be there.  It's just a bummer that no matter how it goes there will be final worthy entries that don't make the cut.

Luckily there will be another GDKO next year whatever happens in the result video.
Let's agree to join again next year.
If you allow me,  I will make a Sir Spectacles game next year, haha

I would love that! Hopefully we'll both still be here next week but I'll for sure be back next year, too!
