Hahaha this is funny

Thank you for playing and thanks for the positive feedback! I will make the game grid based to avoid any annoying off by one pixel issues.

Haha no worries, I think I tried throwing the horizontal bug at the bean sprout thingy, but it did not latch on. I tried picking up the vertical bugs in the cave but that did not work after I tried it a lot of times. Maybe next time add a "/" in the text balloon and show both orientation of bugs to make it super clear for people like me.

This is an issue I actually enjoyed, multiple ways to solve a puzzle is always fun. Maybe you can use this to your advantage 😇

Haha, this is funny

Very fun and cute game, very cool graphics, nice way of storytelling with all the icons!

Small points:

- For the house to the left of the start it was not clear instantly that you could walk through it maybe it would be better to not align the ground lowering with the start of the building then also the insect will walk that way.

- I did not understand how to pickup the vertical moving insects so I had to find a more creative way to get up there, haha, very cool that this is possible.

Not sure what the secondary mechanic was for this one,

Nice music, I liked the first part where you had to get the stuff from your house, very cute.

Farming + Shooting game can be a very cool combination.

Cool game. Very nice minimalistic visuals.

I died a lot of times especially on the corridor with all the balls bouncing vertically. I did not make it past that level. Maybe a respawn point would be good or have the death animation be faster.

I suck at your game, there should be a bigger shield for players like me, haha.

I think you could do some cool things with this. I already had a pretty good score the first time around. I think you could push the speedrun part even further, for example at the start make it almost impossible to beat the game in a short amount of time. For example you can give the player the speed of a turtle initially or you need to take a longer route because your jump is not high enough yet, that would be an easy way to extend the gameplay and could even be funny.

Cute short experience. :D

🌟

Thank you so much 🌟

Sorry removed it 🙈

Yeah might be good to take the average of the mouse speed even a few millisecond before you release. I might have been just throwing the ants in random directions in a panic.

My experience:

  1. Cool start of the game, the menu reminds me a bit of outer wilds.
  2. Nice polish of the menus. this looks interesting
  3. Let's start, I wonder what is in the dark
  4. WTF jump scare  😱
  5. I had some trouble knowing how to cut trees, initially I did not know you had to keep pressing E
  6. Darkness is everlasting..
  7. I did not manage to find any of the fireflies

I can't wait till the rest of the story, I need to know what happened to Timmy the Timer!

I played a whole extra round where I cleaned up the whole screen after I got all the powerups, strangely meditative.
I think this game has a lot of potential to expand on for future rounds.

Super fun game I found out I really enjoy killing ants.

It sometimes was quite difficult to control the throwing mechanic, it was not really clear what would happen anytime you picked up one of the ants and flinged them, sometimes it caused damage and sometimes they would just peacefully land on their annoying ant feet.

I like what you made, having some sound effects and some background music could have been a nice addition.
Nice ending where you had to [REDACTED]

Thanks for the advice!

Thank you!
Brainfart is showing the solution to the coin in the top right in this video at the following timestamp:

Nice voice over! I was not expecting that. I missed the voice over when I finished the tutorial. You could do a lot of cool things with the voice-over.

Very cool game. Some extra colors or labels for the items would be nice, I had some trouble remembering what combinations of items made what.

Lo-fi is the best

I did not know a game about mathematics could be so exciting, I definitely felt a lot of pressure when attacking and trying to calculate all the possibilities in my head.

Very cool game, very polished.

Thank you! 🌟

Wow, this game is so polished, nice cute story. Enjoyed playing this,

Also very good choice of music.

Please forward this message to the CEO

I love deckbuilding games. I had fun playing this.

Great music choices and very nicely polished game!
While playing the game I was not really sure what the two mechanics were. (I think building your deck and battling)

I think it could be very cool to extend this game with more enemies + artifacts + upgrading cards or you could try to do something crazy and be super creative and give your own spin to the deckbuilder.

I wanted to see how I ranked with the other players but I think the leaderboard is not working yet or someone hacked it.

Working on it 👍

Haha nice, I also think this game has potential to be an odd mobile game 😅

Here is my devlog

Thank you, maybe I will ping you on discord to verify the music I choose next round 😁

Thank you thank you! What type of music would you recommend for this type of game? I added the music last minute, maybe that was a bad decision 😅

🌟

Yes, I should remove the jump. I thought it was funny since it is basically useless/redundant. I think I will make the game grid based in the next round or snapping the shapes also sounds like a good idea.

Amazing that you think this should be a metroidvania! That was my exact idea. I think you can do so much cool stuff with this idea, a lot of cool backtracking should be possible based on new shapes you unlock.

> I also kind of wish there was the ability to move my face without moving the shape (or needing a wall), especially since the WASD keys weren't used at all

This is very much intentional, this limits the player and makes the game more difficult. I don't think I will add this 🙈.

Haha, you made me laugh with your comment. I tried to push the shapes I had as far as possible in terms of level design as I could. Every puzzle relies on different shapes and a different technique it was a lot of fun to create the levels.

Me too! 🌟

🌟

Yeah, I think you are right, I already had the jump mechanic for an earlier prototype and I decided not to remove it since I thought it was funny to keep it, since the jump is useless. I think it is indeed better to focus.

🌟

Thank you, I think I can do even more interesting level design with more shapes, let's hope the theme for the next round is a bit suitable.

🌟

Thank you thank you, organic tutorials are the best, always better to keep things simple and have the player learn by playing, I will continue doing this in the next rounds
