Really fun to play!

Very well polished game and fun to play.  The sword became much less powerful when really small though.

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing!
That is sort of the point of the mechanic, it's easier to dodge bullets when you're small, but you risk dying and can barely use the sword.
Unfortunately due to a bug there's basically infinite bullets, so you can just use the gun heh

Good work. The music was soothing and the gameplay was satisfying. I liked as you went deeper into the dungeon you encountered different enemies.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you noticed it, indeed the enemies are distributed based on depth in the dungeon. Thanks for playing!

Really great game, very fun and feels well polished. If you don't take any damage It's easy to miss though how the theme fits here :P

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, yeah, maybe should've started everyone off with 1 health, but I just assumed you'll get hit at some point heh

Submitted

Cool game! It was weird not being able to shoot over gaps. But it was satisfying to go around killing things for ammunition later, especially because the smaller you got the less effective the sword was.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing!
The shooting over holes thing is a bug I left in, in fear that fixing it would break something else just before the deadline heh

Submitted

Nice polish, it made fighting good fun. I would have liked if you could shoot across gaps in the ground. Also after collecting enough bullets the sword was not realy needed anymore because it was to risky.
I did find a bug unfortunatly. when I collected the key and then died the key stayed at the same position in the screen but wasn't interactable anymore.

Developer

Thanks for playing, I intended to make the gaps in the ground not stop bullets, but I kinda didn't have enough time to fix it and not worry that it might cause more bugs.
Yeah, I've played it a bit today again and have seen that bug and similar. Also for some reason ammo doesn't go down in the latest version, so... that might be part of the issue heh

Submitted

Great fun to play and super polished! Was it intentional that the ammunition doesn't run out? After the first enemy  I had no reason to use the sword again

Developer (1 edit)

Nope, not intentional heh. Seems it's a bug that creeped into the last build. Thanks for playing :)

Such a good game very replayable. Fighting the enemies was exciting and the shrinking concept was a creative  addition for the prompt. Great start for a future game if you decide to go forward with development.

Developer

I hope to do atleast a bit more work on it, yes, thanks a lot for playing !

Submitted

Amazing game considering it was made over 3 days

Developer

Thanks so much for playing!

You polished the heck out of this thing, boiiii!

Developer

I tried to :D thanks for the comment
btw; this is what succeeding in polishing looks like - https://itch.io/jam/gdl-july-21-jam/rate/1112978

This game reminds me Binding of isaac, Nice work !

Developer

Thanks for playing! Binding of isaac wasn't really an inspiration directly since i never played it, but derivative games from it definitely inspired this :)

The game was very polished and the dungon-crawler theme was a nice touch. I would even consider this as a steam game if there was more gameplay!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing, really glad you enjoyed it!
It'd need far more content and polish to be released as a full game, but it's true i tried to push it as far as i could with something that's not supposed to be a jam game.

Really like the idea of doing a dungeon-crawler, even for the 72 hours jam!

Developer

It was a bit of a crazy idea, glad i managed to pull it off. Thanks for playing :)

Great game, very very fun. I completed it after dying once, longest one i've played in the jam. Very polished

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you liked it :)

Very engaging adventure! Being small has some advantages and disadvantages so that size matters when I want to take heart but don't want to be easily hit by a projectile.

Cool pixel art graphics, the game looks pretty polished.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks a lot for playing. As you said the mechanic is a balancing act, though I think even more could've been done to increase the risk/reward factor. Definitely will be exploring that in the future some more.

The pixel art is from a pack by the awesome o_lobster, you can check it out here https://o-lobster.itch.io/simple-dungeon-crawler-16x16-pixel-pack

Immediately engaging for me being that i like rpg/adventure games. Cool variety of enemies, good movement and dungeon mechanics. A map would have really helped. I died a lot and by other peoples comments there's an end? Yeah, never got to that xD But if I wouldnt mind to keep trying to win if i had more time lol

Developer

Thank you for playing!

A map would've definitely been helpful, unfortunately I ran out of time heh
There is an end, though maybe the lack of damage feedback makes dying a huge pain, it's always hard to balance one's own game.

Submitted

I died so many times. :'( Finally won though! I found three keys before I made it back though, which confused me a little. Also, I feel like projectiles should've been able to go over the tiles that crumbled away, after they crumbled away.

Maybe a map would've been helpful?

I wanted to swipe at projectiles to knock them back so bad.

Developer

Thanks for playing!
The three keys might be a bug, i'll have to look into that.

The rest of your comments; well you've basically replicated my uncompleted TODO list 1:1, I completely agree with those :D

Awesome game! Looks great and plays quite well. Definitely encourage you to keep up development on it

Thanks a lot for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)
