The overall aesthetic of the game is fantastic - I loved the pixel art and the animations! The sound design and music was also really good. I also really enjoyed the story - I was quite invested in it and am really happy that you provided the ending video on your page.

It's unfortunate that there were game-breaking bugs, as the game play was great and the controls were solid - I had no major problems with the gameplay itself. The only issue for me was that it was not clear to me right away that I could fall in huge gaps - however that's minor as it was mostly a lack of understanding on my end. 

Overall: great job! This was definitely one of my favorites among the submissions I've tried thus far. I don't know if you plan to continue this further, as there is definitely potential for interesting game play ideas after this game's ending. I won't mention them here to prevent spoiling, so hmu on Discord if you would like my suggestions on that.

I REALLY loved all the polished artwork and audio that went into this game. The flapping animation, the light-up of the checkpoint locations, the overall lighting - everything really played a huge role in creating a super immersive experience! I was so totally spooked, but really enjoyed the ambience that the glows gave the whole scene! And the AUDIO DESIGN and choices were SO spot on, it really gave the game that extra "umph" of spicy and whoaOOO feeling. The echoing screams and monster designs put together just made for another layer of creepy fun!! AND there was a good story - it's a shame I wasn't able to see the final ending, but I hope the reunion between Feng and Anka is sweet! <3

Oh man I so wanted to finish this game but I kept running into issues that required me to restart every time and I couldn't get through to it. :( 

First the art is really fantastic. Even the first game screen is mindblowing. I love the bird's flying animation and sprite. The enemies are all creepy and really well done, overall there is such an uneasy mood that always keeps you on your toes. The background tiles were a bit bland but overall I found that this was the best part of the game. 

The audio was really well done as well, especially the sound effects from the enemies which really freaked me out. Overall it really added to the mood of the game and felt really unified with the graphics.

Gameplay wise is where I had the most issues. First I was repeatedly stuck at several places within the game itself: I would respawn, lose control over the character while having to deal with dialogues only to die a fraction of a second after (usually the character had already pretty much fallen to their death by the time I had dismissed the dialogues). I got stuck in 3 different places on 3 different runs. 

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to beat the game after spending a good 15-20 mins playing it. Please let me know if you're able to fix those bugs so that I can beat this.
