at first I was like wait what is triggering the platform pairs to change, then I realized it was time based and I got into the groove and I got up to like 60. I was curious does the pattern ever change or is it just kind of an endurance run seeing if you can maintain the pattern with consistency

Pretty simple concept, but it lacks of diffeernt platforms. Also you need to work on movement.
Hey, coming from the community thread here. Agree with you the game is difficult, our best score is 37!
Not sure if this is intended, but how if the platform appears more randomly? For example, the platform goes left right, then right left to give more even more challenge.
Also, try our game as well (look forward to your feedback): https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462181#post-873981 :)
Good game, nice to play

Wow, brutally hard is right! This is a fun, frustrating challenge, I like it :) Thanks again for rating our game!
And btw, 7-zip worked for me as well for unzipping!

I like the idea and the gameplay, you might be pushing the theme a little with 'one pair' hahaha.
looking forward to it.... remember to return the favor by trying and ratting mine https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/431948
On the upside, your game is functional. It was jarring to have it start so suddenly, but after two tries of trying to figure out what to do, I got into it.
On the downside, your game is solvable. For the third try I figured I'd just go until I lost once since it seemed simple enough to rate based on just that. I stopped having fun at 15 points. At 120 points, I stopped bothering and closed the game.
I think if you go infinite for how long your game can last, you really need some form of progression, even if just building toward impossible speed.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm aware the game is rather light on content and is basically based on that one mechanic of the two platforms. It's what I was going for looking at the theme and everything of "only one"
Regardless.....at the end of the day, you're right. I won't take anything away from the fact that the game is basically screaming for some sort of progression system.I will definitely implement it in a final version.
Thank you so much for playing my game and for your criticism. I'll definitely keep it in mind :)
P.S 120 is a damn good score !!!! I honestly can't go past 70-ish since I end up falling out of the rhythm of the game XD
Took me a little time to get the hang of it but other than that, neat game!
hahaha the word play here with the GMTK theme is my favorite thing ... "One Pair"
Definitely some more platform variety and some signal/transition in between each platforms would be good.
Got like 40 points, would be cool if it started changing where the platforms spawn. Good job man!
Gameplay was a bit plain, it could use a bit more variation to keep things exciting, like maybe having the platforms appear at different places + telegraphing where they'll appear so it won't be impossibly hard. I also noticed that you used Unity, you could try looking into WebGL for future games on itch.io!
Confusing at the beginning but then I got the hang of it. Use Arrow keys guys!
Feels good to move, cool sound effects and a surprising gameplay!
