I'm really looking to get some feedback about what works and does not work in my game as I kind of like what I have made this jam and am considering going further into it. If you could rate my game and comment what you like or dislike about it I'll do the same to yours!

https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462213

My game is a 4 player split screen with ONLY ONE player. You have to control all 4 players at one time. In addition to that I allow you to have ONLY ONE item, grabbing a new one will delete the old one so you have to think carefully about grabbing an item with higher defense but lower attack or vise versa.

Here is some stuff that'll help you with the game!

TIPS &&  HINTS

  • Not attacking for 2 seconds will make your next attack do 1.5x damage
  • Collecting coins raises the max damage you can find on a weapon
  • Holding Y and then hitting P will reset your highscores
  • Armor is how many hits you can take before the next one will kill you. (you have ONLY ONE true hit point)

CONTROLS:

  • A,D, Left, Right - Movement
  • Space - Jump
  • E - Pick up item
  • Left Click - Attack
  • ESC - pause

Feel free to comment about my game either here, on the rate page, or on the game's page. I'll be looking at them all and checking out your submission as soon as I can!

Hey, just played and rated your game!

Here is ours: "The Only NeOne" a Grid based puzzle game where you clear levels by reaching the exit by only pressing and holding your input keys ONCE. Study the enemy's patterns, keep track of your paths you take and figure out how to reach the exit!

You will find the game here: https://dzamani.itch.io/the-only-neone

We would love to hear your feedbacks!

Thanks!

I actually already found your game from the random game button. I've already rated and left a comment which  cAyou responded to. I can copy paste what I said here though:

Very nice game! I like the idea of only being able to move each direction once. Originally I was thinking something similar but instead you'd only be able to move in one direction but it didn't play as well, this is much better. Something I would suggest is to allow the player to not have to hold a direction making it so they can take time with their movements, maybe only lock them out of going in a direction once they change directions. It would also be nice to be able to see the path of the enemies; I found the ones without enemies much more enjoyable because it was predictable right away where as with enemies I didn't know which way they would go or how far until I messed around a bit.

All together still a great game!

I even liked your comment, should stop doing that after parties in the middle of the night haha

the concept of your game sounds so cool! I'll Get to playing it soon!

My game is called One Shot In The Chamber, a wave based survival game where you must fight off hordes of enemies with the catch being, you have only one bullet. Fortunately, the bullet is magic and you can summon it back to you or teleport to it. Using this unique ability, you must survive as long as possible in the chamber. Here is a screenshot of the game and the link to the game page: https://mark-auman.itch.io/one-shot-in-the-chamber

Sounds cool DragonHeart! Mine can be played alone or coop (coop is a bit easier if you work as one!)

Interesting concept! It needs more tweaks but making the player make multiple decisions at the same time is a good idea I think. The version now we are playing basically force the player keep slashing in the end. Maybe 4 players at the same time were too much. Or maybe it only needs more tweaks. Besides, like the art of it. Nice work!

This is my game, please give it a try if you will: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461812

I liked the concept for your game and left a long (but a little unorganized) comment with feedback.  I hope the feedback is what you were looking for!

If you have the time, I'd appreciate your feedback on my puzzle platformer with only one person per level: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/462512. I've gotten mixed feedback on the controls and how I teach (or don't) the core mechanic. Any help in those areas I would greatly appreciate.
